    Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

    by S. W. on 2023-03-21

Venue sucked. One Security lady yelling so loud asking thousands of people to line up in three single file lanes. First off fence the line off, but having groups and pairs of people walking in waiting for the ticket scanners to scan the public can figure that out for themselves. I got to the event early so i can get in early. yet the plan for single file bumped people ahead. The entrance took longer so the bands started later than planned. Jane’s Addiction 3/4 of them were great wish Dave would have been there as I mainly wanted to see the full line up. Jane’s I hope comes to Edmonton to make up my wasted trip to Toronto only to have OLP announce three songs in that Jane’s addiction was not performing that night. The sound at the Cosmopolitan seemed limited the bands singers were drowned out. unless i needed to be further away from the stage. Love the band wish they would have more free form setlist how good bands would play to the crowd. The modern era of concerts with structured setlist sucks. I enjoy shows where bands can feed off the energy of the crowd and play what they want when they want too.

My first time at Freedom HIll. Really enjoyed myself and easily moved about -- drinking, eating and smoking. Band sounded great. LOVE this venue. Jane's Addiction -- always awesome!

    Addicted To The Jane!!

by bayoubunny66 on 2012-10-15queen elizabeth theatre - Vancouver

What a show!! The sound could have been better, there was a lack of crispness in the top end and some difficulty hearing all of Perry's words, but the theatricality and the overall performance were superb! I last saw Perry in 1994. He has kept in shape and can still dive and weave and shamble with the best of them. It's worth the price of admission just to see him interact with the audience and band. One small quibble-I was hoping for more complex performance art! Where were the gypsy dancers and the bondage girls? Great selection of tunes and a band that was enjoying themselves to the max!

    So, so so disappointing!

by dayran on 2012-09-16Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The sound was awful, and for a small venue it should have been amazing. I have waited a long time to see this band live and was sadly disappointed. sigh. There was no chemistry between bandmates and no encore. they played and left. sucked!

    First time seeing Jane's Addiction

by The604 on 2012-09-04Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Let's just skip over the opening band, Big Black Delta, who sound a little like Depeche Mode, only find it necessary to perform in almost complete darkness... What kind of scars are you guys hiding? Jane's Addiction, on the other hand, had the crowd going from the second they stepped on stage. They love being rock stars and it shows with the energy they put into their show. Perry Ferrel is a pimp, and his voice is amazing. He jumps around the stage like a man half his age, and Dave Navarro plays the guitar so well that you almost forget you're not listening to a recording. I was also pleased with the fact that I knew all but one of the songs they performed. Great show!
