About

JASON BONHAM IN CONCERT:

Jason Bonham’s thunderous drumming recalls one of the greatest to ever sit behind the skins: his father John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. Even as the son of a rock legend, Jason has managed to carve out a niche of his own, becoming one of the most in-demand drummers playing today. Instead of just conducting the band from behind his trademark transparent kits, Bonham often engages with the audience, calling for them to cheer and sing along to their favorite songs. Touring with both his original material and his work with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, he continues to treat ticket buyers to mind-blowing drumming that simply cannot be missed.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

When legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham died, there was only one person who could come close to creating the massive sound he was known for-—his son Jason. Whenever the band has needed over the past 20 years, Jason Bonham has stepped into his father’s shoes, admirably carrying the torch lite by the late great drummer. The younger Bonham is a virtuosic musician in his own right, good enough to open for The Firm in 1985, when he was just 19. In addition to supporting the likes of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, Slash, Foreigner, UFO, Paul Rodgers, and Joe Bonamassa, he leads his tribute band Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. He also appeared as part of the fictional band Steel Dragon in the movie Rock Star (2001) along with guitarist Zakk Wylde. In 2006 Bonham co-starred in the VH1 reality series Supergroup along with other noteworthy rock stars Ted Nugent, Sebastian Bach, and Scott Ian.

Best Led Zep Cover Band Ever

by zepfan1 on 2015-05-25The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Attention all diehard Zeppelin fans! I know you want to see Page, Plant and Jones hit the stage with Jason Bonham, but until that happens again, your best chance of re living the magic of Zeppelin bursting onto stage In the late Sixties to stake a claim in the melting pot of Heavy Blues Rock of the Era that resulted in Zeppelin going down in hisory as THE band that captured the Blues and created a new Groovy Bluesy Hard Rock sound, a hypnotic and wild improvisation that thrilled blues thirsty rockers of all ages at the time and of generations to come. I saw Jason and his band several years ago at the Fox theater in Detroit; a stunning performance that put the audience in a trance, savouring every beat and note. Fans were screaming "play them all!". I did not believe I would ever witness such an audience capturing spell ever again, but I was wrong, they did it again at Caesars Windsor. Awesome!!!
