Jersey Boys (Touring) Tickets

The performance was great but issues with entering the facility reduced the enjoyment. We were told doors would open at 7 and we could access our seats at 7:30 (not sure why you can’t go to your seats immediately upon entry). We arrived at the venue around 7:20 and upon going up the escalator we were met by a wall of people as there was no place to go. We got off the escalator and found a place to stand. The crowd continued to build with less and less space. People were pushing people off the escalator, it should have been shut off. Patrons were allowed to enter seating around 7:50. Venue management said there was a technical issue that required them to hold the curtain. Interestingly the same thing happened in Halifax a few nights before with the same reason given. Strange coincidence. Also at intermission the house lights failed to come up for several minutes. None of these issues reflect on the cast or musicians. The singing, acting, music and set were first rate. But the logistical issues damaged what would have been a great night.

They are great singers and performers. Had a great evening!

We enjoyed the performance once it commenced. The music brought back memories of our youth. We were extremely disappointed in our inability to gain access to our seats. The Avenir website indicated the seats would be available at 7:30 PM for the 8:00 PM performance. We were held in the hall, without explanation, until almost 8:00 PM following which there was a rush by the patrons to their seats. The performance did not begin until after 8:15 PM. This tardiness shows a lack of professionalism by the organizers of the event. While this may seem trivial we suggest this lack of courtesy will be detrimental to the on-going support of the public in future events at the Avenir.

Last nights show was awesome, however the entry into the facility was not a pleasant experience. We received an “alert” email ahead of time confirming the doors opened at 7:00 pm sharp - they were not, more like 7:15 or more. Not very pleasant being outside in that cold wind while we could see the security team just inside the doors chatting away while our teeth were chattering due to the cold. There were a lot of seniors out in that cold. Then, the aforementioned email said seating available at 7:30, again, it was not, more like 7:45-7:50. Oh, and the show starts at 8:00 sharp, again, it did not, more like 8:30-8:45. And dare I mention the unruly and loud customer in the hallway? Why didn’t an attendant go and ask him to quiet down or leave? All this while not providing an explanation or an apology. All this did is reminded us not to go see a show at the facility during the Winter months.

I Love the story and the music. They did a good job

We enjoyed the show very much, the Avenir Center is awesome but the staff and handling of the crowd took away from the overall experience. I am doing this in the interest of seeing them improve .... not to be negative or critical. We heard a lot of grumbling and growling though over the way people were admitted and seated. The crowd was not allowed to go in to their seats, no explanations given, seating started 15 to 20 minutes after the doors were supposed to open and the seating was not managed well at all. There were a lot of older patrons who needed help and extra time to find their seats and get to them. Everyone was congested in the upstairs entrance area while we waited. At one point I observed people piling into each other at the top of the escalator as they could not clear the top landing. The escalator tripped out or was shut off. Fortunately because someone could have been seriously injured. Definitely room for improvement.

We took part in the added pre-performace dinner and were very happy this took place and would like to see this continue. Dinner and a show might be something you could further develop. It was a pleasent precursor to the show and everything was very good. The show first of all the performers and performance was amazing and extremely well done. The bar servers were friendly and pleasant to thier customers ( they actually seemed to enjoy thier jobs and interacted with thier customers). Now the bad the signage and information stated the doors would open at 7:30 and the performance would start precisely at 8pm. We were told to go upstars to get to our seats, but the mezzanine was so crouded people could not get off the escalators without difficultly as the mas of people waiting. As the space continued to fill up the doors remained closed. Finally at 7:55 they opened the doors to the seating. However the number of people was not able to get into the venue. At first ushers were escorting people to thier seats 1 at a time, this made things worse. Finally they stepped aside and helped if needed to find seats. The performance started at 8:35 and people were still trying to get to thier seats. The show as mentioned was amazing, however when it got to the inttermmison the stage went dark house lights stayed off and after 5 minutes and no announcements people began moving off in the dark to the refreshment and washrooms. A 15 minute intermission turned into a 35 minute intermission and then the performance started again with people now coming back into the seating area in the dark as again there were no announcements or 5 minute warnings. We have been here 3 times now and this particular event management was dissapointing however the performers made it well worth while.

Gave this a 4 rating out of 5 mainly because of the venue. Seating is terrible, no leg room whatsoever and squished in our seats. This venue is more for hockey games and sports. The Coliseum would have been a much better place. No comparison to the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown, P.E.I. for sure...

Saw this show previously and it didn’t disappoint. Pros: Amazing singers. Great stage setup. Cons: The language ( four letter words) could have been toned down a bit. VENUE: Should have opened the doors an hour earlier. Show was almost a half hour late in starting. This is the second time being at this venue and it has happened both times. Will think twice about going there again.

I have seen the Jersey Boys seven times and I can’t wait for number eight. The show is amazing and the music is fabulous. This production lived up to all expectations.
