True talent. Great venue. Jim James' rips on guitar. The delrium was amazing.
Only stayed for the Claypool Lennon Delirium...their performance alone far exceeded the price of admission. What more could you ask for?...stellar musicians, great sound & set list, up close and intimate in a fairly small venue with rock royalty. I was in (and still am) in concert heaven from this performance. Do not pass on the opportunity to see these guys live!
With the Claypool Lennon set being a little short -bearly under an hour of great guitar, bass, vocals and signature Claypool themes, James really hit the stage hard ramping up the energy and delivering some strong lyrics and rocking' rhythms. Overall it was a nicely balanced show. The volume throughout the evening was mostly up in the 105-110 decibels which I wish the sound guys would watch. That's hard on the ears unless you have good musician's ear plugs. Especially if you have young ears and tons more shows to go.
Lennon Claypool Delirium was quite the ride, we got everything from King Crimson to Beatles covers, Les Claypool was a bit subdued, but still provided the weirdness. I've seen Jimmy James with My Morning Jacket, his solo show lets him step away from his hyped up persona, but the screaming guitar was quite a clash from the Delirium performance. I did enjoy his encore, playing some MMJ familiar tunes.
Sean and his friends created an amazing and thoroughly exhilarating experience that will remain in my memory for many years to come particularly their rendition of ELP's Court of the Crimson King and Tomorrow never knows still reverberate days later
This was an intense genre-bending show. James and his band are all extremely capable musicians that draw upon so many different styles and eras of music to put on one of the best live shows I've had the opportunity to witness.
