Foghat & Steppenwolf June 13, 2015
by robdebt01 on 2015-06-23Colosseum at Cesaers Windsor Casino - Windsor2 bands who were big in the era they came from. Foghat opened and they still rocked. Only the original drummer remained intact but still sounded good. I'm not a huge Foghat fan but there were as many Foghat fans there to see them as there were Steppenwolf fans. From 'Fool For The city' to 'Slow Ride' they kept the audience entertained. When John Kay first took the stage and opened with 'Sookie Sookie' i was a little concerned at the sound of his voice. He kind of wandered in a daze looking like he was struggling to get into the show, but once he got past that he carried the audience in a trip down memory lane talking in between songs about the old days and how and where songs came about. He spoke at the beginning of an honest appreciation of his fans and acknowledged the different fan bases with humor and sincerity. It had been years since I seen John Kay & Steppenwolf and they still knew how to rock the night away. I really enjoyed the background videos of them in their earlier days and as they played on the big screen behind them they would sing the same song as the video and almost in sync.
