My fiance is a huge fan so I bought him tickets to John Oliver for Christmas...and it was literally the best stand up comedy show either of us have ever been to! Even the guy who opened for him was amazing!
Did not disappoint! John Oliver is such a talented comedian and I always end up learning some interesting new facts along with many many laughs! Awesome!
My cheeks are still hurting from laughter. Both John and his opening act were fantastic. The show opened exactly on time, and everything went as expected.
Great night, beautiful theatre, started right on time and John Oliver’s comedy was intelligent, thought provoking and really funny. We’ve been to many comedy shows and you don’t usually leave wanting to research the comedians topics. John really makes you think
John was great, fantastic, on point, smart, funny...5 stars for John and his opening act. Negative starts for OLG stage. The venue was terrible, from the ridiculous parking charges ($50) to the only one way out (waited almost as long as the show to exit), to the staff member who kept shining his flashlight in our faces...dude, people need to see the ground, not our faces. There was only one way for 5000 people to exit the theatre, and only 3 places to pay for the absolute rip off for parking. I won't pay to attend an event at this venue again., the Fallsview Casino OLG was a major disappointment.
John Oliver is funny, no doubt about that....but he's also incredibly confident and easy going on stage. He's easy to watch and listen to....and I appreciated how he kept his show going, from one topic to another, seamlessly moving through a variety of different topics but his show flows. We are John Oliver fans to begin with (watching him every week on TV) so we're very familiar with his manner of speaking. Although, I don't think you need to necessarily "know"who he is to appreciate his humour. He's worth the money, go see him, and have a laugh.
Great seats/view, great staff, funny guy and good laughs.
This show was really great. So happy to be able to see John live.
From his opener, Brooks Wheelan to John’ s set, it was an evening full of laughs. The set had ranged from personal stories, to politics to cultural differences. Not one bit didn’t work.
