    Close to the real thing!

by Davew on 2020-02-25The Studio (Formerly The Studio at Hamilton Place) - Hamilton

The band is great! Paul’s voice is so close to Johnnys. Added feature when he calls JC’s drummer the last surviving member of the band.

    Slow

by K. S. on 2020-02-25The Studio (Formerly The Studio at Hamilton Place) - Hamilton

The singer told way too many stories and they didn’t do enough singing. The best singer in the group was singing backup. The band members are all great but the singer needs to talk a LOT less. Also $10 for a drink.

    CASH WAS PAINFUL !!

by Cashfanman on 2013-06-01Hamilton Place Studio - Hamilton

The band was really good. however it appeared as if they were playing with this hacky Cash guy for the first time. It looked like someone told this guy he sounded a little bit like Johnny Cash so he hired three great musicians and billed himself as a tribute act .His guitar was out of tune for most of the show and he was playing all the wrong cords ,lucky the sound guy was picked up on this and kept his guitar volume real low . when someone told him about his guitar he didn't know how to tune it, his jobber had to do it for him. I have no idea how this guy got booked at Hamilton Place. You would think if you were billing yourself as the Ultimate Cash Tribute that you would at the very least know some of the lyrics to the songs right ? not this Guy ,he had to read the lyrics of every song from a music stand that was right in front of him, so that tells me he is not even a real fan of Johnny Cash music, reading lyrics is ok if you are just learning a song and your playing in a bar but not professional if you are playing a venue of this caliber. I wanted to leave but the person that bought me the ticket was with me and didn't want to hurt her feelings....so bad , so long and boring ,so PAINFUL to watch and listen to....thankfully there was NO ENCORE, why no encore ? because no one wanted this train wreck of an act to go on for one second longer...just plain Amateur !! If there were eggs and tomatoes available.... it would have been a very messy evening ..............

johnny cash tribute on feb 9 was fair

by cashfan on 2013-02-16hamilton place canadian molson studio - hamilton

molson studio was a great venue for this concert because of the audio and lighting. the band sounded good for some songs, the voice was like johnny cash. some songs voice was flat or out of key and the guitar was out of tune which was noticed later and fixed. and there was no mannerisms or resemblance to johnny cash at all. the show was long and lacked energy and if there was an intermission would have left.

Gave these tickets as a gift. They had a fabulous time. Said the performance was amazing and that if you closed your eyes, you'd swear it was Johnny Cash in the flesh.

    Great Performances

by Kacey62 on 2013-02-12Molson Canadian Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

The performance was great other than the amount of photographers that were running around really distracted from the show. On numerous occasions I found myself looking at the back of one of the many photographers and was unable to see the band. There was an extremely annoying patron (very intoxicated) that was finally asked to leave after quite a few warnings to be quiet.

I'm not sure how they do it, but they have that famous Johnny Cash rhythm down pat.

    Cash -- excellent!!!

by DoctorB on 2013-01-28Molson Canadian Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Excellent tribute to Cash. Even though he doesn't resemble Cash in terms of his appearance, his voice sounds exactly like Cash -- amazing!

    Voices were good

by BrenC on 2013-01-28Molson Canadian Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Unfortunately the stage presence for both bands was lacking. I thought it would have been a more profesional show seeing it was put on by Hamilton Place (even though it was in the studio theatre) I have seen many other acts there and they were all very profesional. Though both singers have great voices (he actually did sound like Cash) at times it was painful and almost like an open mic night. Not the bands fault by any means but they had a problem with 2 drunks who thought it funny to dance at the front of the room and had to be escorted out of the building, something Hamilton Place security should never have let happen to start with. All and all if there was an intermission I would have left early.
