I thought I bought tickets to see Joshua Bell. The whole first half the evening was NAC and a local church choir. I was ok with it knowing that Joshua would be performing in the second half. It was a huge disappointment. Yes his performance was in relation to his book, but the narrator could have been less vocal, and about 90% of Joshua Bell's music was played along with by the orchestra. I was left hoping that he at least would pay a portion of the solo that he performed in the subway - but no, he finished the book performance and left the stage without a word ever spoken to the audience - I should have set my watch to see how much time he played. The remainder of the evening was the local church choir.
Overall, the NAC and the choir were nice, but it was advertised as a night with Joshua Bell - and that is misleading - it was more like a "brief appearance by Joshua Bell" If that was the case, I might still have considered buying tickets and attending - but I would have proper expectations.
