Being Indian I was really looking forward to seeing Russel Peters. When Lopez came out first I thought..ok saving the best for the last. But I was wrong. Lopez was awesome!!! He totally stole the show. RP did not have anything new really. Even got awkward at times when he picked on audience in the front seats. Atleast its original..I guess. Hope he works on something new though.

Demetri was funny -- but the rest?

by seveneighty on 2011-06-21The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Demetri Martin was great, but reused jokes I'd heard before. His off-the-cuff improv stuff was awkwardly hilarious, and most of his stuff was LOL funny. A few of his friends were hilarious (Kumail Nanjiani, Hannibal Buress, to be exact; the others not so much) -- but I'm pretty sure I'd seen most of the jokes they used on Youtube. The biggest value of the show for me was seeing it in the Chicago Theater. Otherwise, the comedians at the much-much-cheaper "Best of the Fest" or "LOL Lounge" shows were extraordinarily funnier and the venue more intimate.
