not really what I paid for

by Davvid on 2010-07-22Massey Hall - Toronto

This wasn't a Louis C.K. show. LCK was the MC for the night which featured 5 or 6 comics, all less good than LCK. When I bough the ticket, I thought $100 was pretty steep. But a couple of hours of LCK would have been worth it. As it turns out, we only got about 20 minutes of LCK material, and over half of it had been performed in Toronto before. Whatever, comics can't be expected to have 100% fresh material every time. And it's all still funny. What irks me most is that none of the promotional material mentioned any other performers. Not once anywhere on the Ticketmaster site, or even on the ticket was there anything to indicate that this was a group showcase. Everything said "Louis C.K." full stop. I went expecting a Louis CK show. And I feel I got ripped off.

Just for Laughs - The Relationship Show

by bobthesoccerguy on 2010-07-15Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

The venue is really nice and just the right size. The comedians were very funny but the show seemed to end too soon. The staff was helpful finding our seats.

    Raaaaaaaandy!

by TOstevo on 2010-07-15Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

I was expecting Aziz Ansari to be funny but he blew me away. He has a ton of material (all new) and it was brilliant.

    tommy the funny irishman

by autumnps on 2010-07-13Jane Mallett Theatre - Toronto

He is very charasmatic, charming and funny, can handle a hecklar, brings all of jokes to a common end, very well done. I liked how he wanted to fill all of the seats, because of this we were able to move down. It made our 30th anniversary fun. Thank you!

    Patton Oswalt is king!

by McGoo777 on 2010-07-13Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

First off, great venue. I came and paid money to see Patton Oswalt, not 4 other comics, some of which not even mentioned on the bill on JFL's website. I feel I did not get enough Patton for my money. I will not attend another Just for Laughs event. But I will give this five stars because I love Patton, he killed. Oh and the Host Andy Kindler (SP) was awful and I wanted nothing more than for him to leave and not return, but he just kept coming out wasting my Patton time.

    Huge disappointment

by TOstevo on 2010-07-13Massey Hall - Toronto

With a title like "Just For Laughs - Toronto Festival: Louis C.K." I was expecting to see a Louis C.K. standup show. Instead what I got was the equivalent of a really bad episode of Just For Laughs. I will admit Louis was hilarious as the host but unfortunately he only did about 15 minutes (max) of comedy spread throughout the show. If the other acts had been halfway decent I might not be as upset but each one was worse than the last. I feel completely mislead and ripped off. We're not all made of money and this was not a cheap ticket. Next time I see "Just For Laughs" in the title I'll think twice.

    Aziz Ansari was Great!!!

by Simplesam on 2010-07-13Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

His opening comic was great as well. Had a calm, dry humour about him. His name was Todd Barry. He did new material and at the end came back and took requests of people's old material which was definitely hilarious. Even before the show started, he did jokes on the mic before the opening comic came out. The venue and seats were great - and he was actually really funny

Thought it would be exclusively Wayne Brady

by Simplesam on 2010-07-13Massey Hall - Toronto

When I went to the show - I thought I would exclusively be watching Wayne Brady do Stand-Up/Improv. Unfortunately, there were 5 others who shared the 2 hours and did mini skits as well. Some were better than others, i.e. Gabriel Iglesias, aka Fluffy, but other than that I have seen much better.
