Was at this performance and was astounded by her voice and the haunting melodies she sang She had wonderful stories to tell i just wish she had a full orchestra to back her up. The lone piano was nice and classy but lacked depth to bring out her lovely voice. This was a small venue and she would with proper promotion fill a much larger venue. Would love to have her come back. Virtually unknown in North America it is a shame she is not better known. Would have loved to have her come out after to meet, sign autographs and greet as this was such a small venue she could have done this fairly easily. Still an lovely evening.

I am proud to say that Katherine Jenkins is an amazing mezzo-soprano from Wales. She was born in Neath where I was born and also lived before moving to Canada. That's all I can say is that if you get the chance to see her in concert, you will not be disappointed. She performs a wide spectrum of songs ranging from hymns, operatic arias, pop songs and songs from musicals. She has an amazing classical-crossover voice which has clarity, a richness and warmth that exudes in her performance. I have seen her live in the CIA in Cardiff, Wales and if she ever has a concert planned here in Winnipeg, I will definitely be going.

We first discovered this classical singer on one of the PBS TV shows a couple of months ago and liked her singing so much that immediately I checked Ticketmaster to see whether she will be touring in the area soon and we were in luck. I guess her concert in Detroit on Nov. 6th was the start of her tour in America. The concert took place in City Theatre, a small 454-seat venue which was wonderful for all her fans because we could see and hear her sing up close - there was not one bad seat in that theatre! She is a mezzo soprano singer and her voice is crystal clear and wonderful! She performed songs from her latest CD, I Believe, plus a few ones from her earlier years. Her repertoire is close to that of Sarah Brightman, a mixture of opera and classical popular crossover songs, like Carmen, Who Wants to Live Forever, Edith Piaf's La Vie en Rose, or Time to Say Goodbye. She is a fairly unknown singer is USA but I'm hoping that will change with this tour. If Katherine Jenkins is touring in your area, do yourself a favour and go see her. You won't regret it!
