KODO: ONE EARTH TOUR – MYSTERY

by blackbean on 2015-03-15Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My grandson, aged 12 and I saw this show, in part as he takes drumming lessons and I thought it would give him an appreciation of other styles. The show exceeded our expectations. The energy and stamina of the drummers, both male and female, was astounding. The rhythms were almost primordial and the compositions very interesting. However, the show also showcased Japanese culture -- the dragons were just amazing. My grandson thought this was very entertaining. I would see the show again if it were to return to Toronto at some time in the future.

    Kodo was exhilerating

by Maggiewasthere on 2015-03-15Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I reaaly enjoyed the four snakes. The movement was vey natural, and at no point could you see the the actual people who were in the costumes. I love the humour in some of the pieces, and the new ways of playing the drums, rubbing fingers over the surface.

    Kodo: One Earth Tour Mystery

Great show! The drums feel so therapeutic. I do prefer more of the drumming from past shows and prefer only a little of the dancing. The dragons was almost too much. Also. missed the drumming at the end with the really big drum.Still thought the show was great.

Oh my what a basic performance. Above reviews are either paid professionals or individuals with no taste what so ever. I have seen more exciting high school shows. What a shame

Not even close to what I expected. Very week performance; only once did they up their game and play the drums the way you'd expect them to. The vast majority of the performance included very basic and slow drum playing accompanied by flutes! Extremely boring and disappointing. I left half way through the show. What a waste of money

    Truly an exceptional presentation.

Tens of thousands of collaborative drumbeats by the performers and not the slightest hint of a missed note or even the hint of a hesitation. Remarkable athleticism and artistry throughout. My only complaint? The production stirred up my tinitus.
