    Ok, but lazy

by LongtimeFanOfLink on 2016-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I have attended this concert since it's inception. At the beginning, it was very clearly a labour of love, and quite enjoyable to attend. As the years go on however, it has become - in a word - lazy. This year's performance was nearly 100% identical to last year's, and even the orchestra seemed bored/lazy with the same tunes (perhaps this was an off-night for the Edmonton Orchestra). It just seems like it's more of a business or 'money-grab' now than a labour of love, which disappoints. I would recommend this concert to anyone who hasn't seen it before, but I was so disappointed with the repetitive nature this year that I can't recommend it to any who've seen it before.

honestly it was my first time at the jubilee and i was a little worried id be to far away too see anything.but that is not the case at the jubilee even far off in the back people could easily see The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses - Master Quest it was amazing, the music was just soo beautiful its great for people who love orchestra music and it even better for the fans. it was a epic walk down memory lane. the msgs from the creators was a real nice touch. id definitely go again in a heart beat !!

    Great for diehard fans only!

by YEG2016 on 2016-09-24Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Music was fantastic but the experience was only so-so. Merchandise line was very long and you can't buy certain things online. Most people in attendance don't know rules of etiquette in a theater space and were often rude.

This was the most amazing experience for all of us as a family. I would absolutely go again when they come back. Thank you for taking us on a journey through all the Zelda adventures over the last 30 years!

    Breath Taking.

by vclx0 on 2016-03-24Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I wasn't sure what to expect at first when I got these tickets but seeing as Zelda is a guilty pleasure, I decided what do I have to lose! As a kid I would spend HOURS watching my older brother play Zelda on the 64, mainly because of how much I loved the music included in the game. Seeing this orchestra completely blew my mind, even if you don't know the games...I would recommend it because of how amazing the production was.

Great Experience- and I'm not a Zelda fan

by OBlade on 2016-03-23Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I've been to other video game concerts. If you've been to any of the others (Final Fantasy and Pokemon are among the best), you know what to expect. The only thing I was worried about is a tiny personal problem- I've only played one Zelda game ever, many years ago. So I went in as someone who barely knows any of the music. And I came out extremely impressed. The Zelda compositions clearly uphold the highest standards of music in the video game industry, and are brilliantly delivered, in this case by the Kitchener-Waterloo orchestra. The songs are evocative and range from powerfully exciting and simplistically calming. I was most impressed by the videos. The synchronization between the clips from the games and the music being played was uncanny. Some of the battle scenes did repeat, but most were editted well and did a really good job of matching with the music both thematically and rhythmically. Overally I can say I'm sure I would have enjoyed the concert much more if I came in knowing the games a little better, but as someone who isn't a fan, the concert really made me want to play the Legend of Zelda game, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. A great examples of video game music played live in a brilliant and engaging manner, highly recommended.

    was expecting more

by fuchencho on 2016-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I will start off by saying that im a huge zelda fan. Have been since i was a kid and im 32 now, but still i must say i was a little disappointed with this show "master quest". I was expecting something more out of a 30th anniversary year. I was at the 25th anniversary show and there were stations set up to play upcoming video games, they had professional cosplayers dressed up as link from albw, it was just all around more fun. I thought for sure they would have TPHD there but it wasnt. Also it was more or less the same video playing. No one came out to interact with the crowd like in previous shows. It was to expensive for what we got. Probably won't go again.

    Really worthwhile!!!

by leannep on 2016-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

A wonderful, unique experience of the symphony and choral music along with the game imagery. Really enjoyed the short videos of the actual game and music creators to introduce each segment.
