BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Toronto, Lindi Ortega got her start in music at the age of 17 when she picked up the family guitar and wrote her first song about not attending the prom. After spending several years honing her craft, she released her debut The Taste of Forbidden Fruit in 2001. After touring and further developing her songwriting she released her sophomore LP Fall From Grace in 2007. She continued to make her mark in the music industry with her next two EPs – a self-titled release and The Drifter -- that both premiered in 2008 and spawned several tours alongside major acts like Noah and the Whale and Keane. Great alt-country singer

by Ridepaddleguy on 2018-04-17West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

We have loved Lindi Ortega since we saw her open for KD Lang a few years ago. Then we saw her at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. We have all her albums. She has a great voice, and is an excellent songwriter. Her new material is much more up-beat and hopeful than the country blues of her first three albums. She is new country at its best.

    Lindi Ortega Strikes Gold!

by Dixieland on 2018-03-19Arden Theatre - St Albert

One of the most talented songwriter in her genre, Lindi also has a truly incredible voice that allows her to bring a range of emotions to her delivery. She is truly an under-appreciated Canadian artist that deserves much more recognition and respect. It was a privilege to be a witness to her incredible talent.

    Lindi Ortega

by abuela on 2018-03-19Arden Theatre - St Albert

We looked so forward to seeing her in person but unfortunately our expectations were too high. We were extremely disappointed in her performance. From her on stage presence, to the sound system - was not enjoyable. There were seven people in our group and we all had the same comments. Other people around us voiced the same option. I do not like to be negative but this was a great disappointment.

    Lindi Ortega was awesome

by Jneaner16 on 2014-02-11Centennial Concert Hall - Winnipeg

I really enjoyed Lindi Ortega with the WSO. I didn't really know her music - just knew she had a beautiful voice. I was thoroughly impressed. She's a great singer and also tells entertaining, funny stories. Her band was also awesome. I spent a good part of the time just admiring how Lindi's lead guitarist and the WSO worked together and made such beautiful music. Very impressed. - I would go see more shows with WSO (which I would never have thought I'd say) and I would certainly go see Lindi and her band again.

Outstanding all around. Lindi and her band members gave a great, intimate show. Lots of energy, superb musicianship. Stage four is a great place to see a trio like this.

Ended up being late and missing half the show :( However she seems like such a down to earth person just hanging out in the lobby after her set taking pics and signing autographs. I would love to see Lindi again very soon, amazing talent!

    Shortest Show Ever!

    by Paul123 on 2013-02-16Park Theatre - WINNIPEG

So Lindi Ortega has the most incredible voice I've heard in a long time. She does things to a Johnny Cash song that sends shivers down my spine. My only issue with the show was that it was so short (an hour). I get that a musician may not want an opening band, that's cool, you get right to the point. I get that they might want to cut the crap and not do an encore. But at least make the show longer! Take a fifteen minute breather, then come back and sing more. But an hour? Not long enough Miss Ortega! I left a bit disappointed.
