I enjoyed going to the Lawrence Welk Show. I took my mother, as she has enjoyed the show for a long time. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories for both of us. I found it very enjoyable.
I left whistling a happy tune, just as with all the Welk TV shows. It's happy, entertaining music that leaves you with a smile and feeling good about things. May Lou was excellent as hostess and entertainer. I told her afterward that I hoped she would bring the show back. I'd go again for sure. Plus, I just love Mary Lou, her talent, personality and outgoingness. I felt a bit sad, though, recognizing the performers are aging and an era is coming to an end (Jack Imel and Dick Dale are almost 80! And Mary Lou must now be in her mid-sixties). That's another reason why I'd love to see them again, to enjoy them and to remember all that the Welk show has given to us over the decades. Thanks to Ava and Gail. Please come back. God bless.
What a wonderful event the Lawrence Welk show was last Friday! Lawrence Welk would be proud of his name living on and associated with such talent. Not only was the show professional and entertaining, but the stars signing autographs and meeting the fans was an excellent touch. I found that Marylou Metzker went above and beyond by making my 5 year old son feel like a special fan. She took the time to talk to him and take pictures. He even wanted to make her a Valentine card this weekend. lol.
Been watching him for years - nice to see some of the originals still there! Some new talent has been added which hopefully will carry on!
For those of us who are fans of the Lawrence Welk show, the Casino Rama show lived up to m\y expectation. It was great to see Dick Dale and Jack Imel and while they may be getting up in age their professionalism lives on. Hats off to Mary-Lou Metzger who produced the show and showed off her tap dancing skills.
