Bolero conducted by Dudamel was superb

by Pemar on 2010-08-07Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Dudamel conducted LA PHIL with every part of his body....arms, shoulders, eye brows, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, feet, hair...you name it.....it's like he's electrified by the music from within, bouding himself, the orchestra and the audience into one armonic presence, being or something....simply amazing

    Spectacular

by yobwoc on 2009-08-15Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Starting with a picnic and ending with fireworks, a fantastic night. Knapp keeps the pace quick and the musicians are unbelievable. One downside was a competing rock show in the same area, which could be heard and distracted us from the quiet portions of the music. Also parking is an issue at the "bowl". Take a shuttle.

    Glass ROCKS

by Koyaan on 2009-07-25Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Philip Glass is fantastic. The Hollywood bowl is a great venue, and Glass' work is deep and refreshing.

Concert best part of California trip

by efab on 2009-07-24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

We visited California for the first time this July. Our 11 day holiday was excellent and we would visit again. We packed a lot in and the highlight for myself was the July 4th Hollywood Bowl concert with the LA Philharmonic, the amazing fireworks and best of all John Fogerty. I thought that our seats would not be too good, as we booked only a few weeks before the event. However now I believe there is not a bad seat in the place. I was also nervous about our children enjoying themselves, as they have not enjoyed live music in the past. They both really had a good time. In fact they stopped a few days later on the walk of fame to have their picture taken beside John Fogerty's star! Down on the Corner. Center Field. Bad moon on the Rise. Midnight Special. An Ever Ending Love. Rollin on the River. Rock on!
