Lou Gramm Rocks the Bears Den, Seneca Niagara,

by Brdwy on 2012-04-08Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Lou Gramm turned back the clock and delivered a rock solid hour and 15 minute set of vintage Foreigner and solo material in the Falls on Friday night before a full house of loud and appreciative classic rock fans. The voice of so many Foreigner hits was on point and sounded like his did back in the day. No problems with power or range as Lou was on point all night long. Family and friends were also on hand to to celebrate a set list time capsule of all that we love of about Foreigner. My first concert of the summer season and Lou blew it out of the water. The Bears Den venue never disappoints and Lou delivered in spades. It was my pleasure. Thanks to one of rock's great vocalists.

Lou Gramm - Seneca Niagara Casino - Bear's Den

by Pebbles1963 on 2012-04-08Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

I have to say that I was TOTALLY impressed by the concert on Friday, April 6 at Seneca Niagara Casino @ The Bear’s Den. I have been a long time fan of Foreigner and after all these years – Lou Gramm can still BELT out all those tunes. The show brought back so many memories for me. I see Foreigner each and every time they come to the Ontario area – but have always wanted to see Lou Gramm in concert – my dream came true. It would be amazing to see Lou and Mick Jones together again and perhaps one day that will happen. What a perfect venue to see a concert at - very upclose and personal.

    Lou Gramm was a blast!

    by Fancy1 on 2009-07-13Century Casino - Edmonton

Lou Gramm is a legend but his band is not exactly chopped liver. He knows how to surround himself with the right guys. The band is so gifted. In terms of a venue, Century Casino is my kind of place. It's casual and laid back, allowing the audience to watch the artists up close. Lou is singing very well these days. He is clearly taking good care of his special gift - his voice. It's very exciting to see.

LOU GRAMM The Voice is Gone

by SHADBUDDY on 2009-07-13Century Casino - Edmonton

Doors opened at 7:00 and the backup band was scheduled to start shortly after 8:00. We had reserved seating so there was lots of time to browse the Casino and pop into the Casino's restaurant for the buffet supper. As an added benefit they had playoff hockey on an assortment of big screen TVs which helped to keep us amused - as the "scenery" in the Casino was certainly nothing to write home about!! After a good supper, we entered the venue and were shown to our table. This was our first time at this place - a cabaret type arrangement with individual tables. Table service included booze and snack food - so all in all, not a bad spot. We quickly realised that there had been no rush to arrive. The place wasn't even a quarter full at this stage - in any event we ordered a couple of beers and awaited the first act. Shortly thereafter the backup band came on the scene. A couple of guys, acoustic and electric guitars. Not much to report here - the singing and playing was ok, but their material was not exactly to our liking - think Neil Diamond type stuff - not offensive but if you were not careful you could nod off. (which I think I did at least once!) After about 45 minutes of these characters (I forget their name), there was a half hour intermission and on came the evenings main attraction - Lou Gramm. A pretty dramatic entry, first the band, then some power chords, drumming and such, and finally on saunters Lou himself. Unfortunately that is about as good as it got. About half way though the opening song (I believe it was "Feels Like the First Time") it was painfully obvious that the years since Foreigner's heyday in the 80's have not been kind to Mr Gramm's voice. It was not so much that he was slightly off key all night, but more so the fact there was absolutely no range left in his voice to hit anywhere near the high notes that are required to properly belt out the excellent assortment of old Foreigner tunes at his disposal. So to sum it up; although he played all of the old stuff with the exception of "Urgent" and "Long Long Way from Home", it was a pretty disappointing night. The group gave it their best shot but Gramm's voice was borderline bad and the rest of the band (consisting of his 2 brothers on lead guitar and drums, and a couple of other guys on keyboards and base guitar) seemed barely above bar - band calibre. Try as we might, we just couldn't get into it. Needless to say we didn't buy any t-shirts, cds, hats etc that they were shamelessly trying to peddle after the show.

Lou Gramm no Foreigner to the stage(more COWBELL)

by Pauliwog on 2009-07-12Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Here was another opportunity to let go of the 80's...but I didn't! Back in their day, I was as big a fan of Foreigner as there could be. The guitar riffs, love ballads and raw emotion that those songs had, could not be matched. Still today when I hear any of them on the radio(or IPod), I sometimes still get shivers! Some songs bring back memories of reckless teenage behaviour, some songs bring memories of certain girls back into my head(which is good and bad!). It was a time of growth, physically, mentally and musically. I just HAD to thank Lou personally. The set list was predictably filled with the hits. Both Foriegner and Lou Gramm as a solo artist. Why not give the crowd of 450 what they came to hear right? The new Album was due out and should have been ready for distribution at the concert but "Joe" the Stage Manager said they were incorrectly shipped to his house in Rochester, New York(also Lou's home town). I had convinced a dozen of my friends to join us and we all left satisfied that we were treated to another glimpse of our pasts. We all had "Juke Box Heroes" signs and waived them proudly. I had passed these to "Joe" earilier for Lou to autograph and he recognized us out in the crowd. I hope that the Deerfoot Inn and Casino(Calgary) realizes one day soon, that they desperately need a stage lighting system that is equal to the quality of the bands thay seem to be able to sign.

    Lou Gramm is Amazing !!!

by onzoom on 2009-07-12Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

Lou Gramm came out on stage and amazed the mostly middle aged crowd with an awesome assortment of Foreigner tunes including, Hot Blooded, Juke Box Hero, and I Want to Know What Love is. He sounded great and his bane was incredible.

    lou gramm was fun!

by dbrowner on 2009-07-12Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Calgary

I love oldies rock. Lou Gramm and The Foreigners did put on a good show for not having played in quite some time. They played what everyone wanted them to play and everyone who was there was into it!! At the end of the concert they threw a pic and my friend actually ended up getting it!! Lous brother threw it out too! The drum solo was very entertaining and a good shift of pace. This show is definately recomended to those who like old and classic rock and just want to get out for a good time!
