    great music, great stories

by Splash2 on 2016-10-16Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Lunch at Allen's was not a name i was familiar with plus the promotion was not obvious who this was. Once I found out, I was excited to go. And, their performances did not disappoint. Murray, Ian and Marc all did some of their hit songs, and Cindy was an interesting fourth. Her music is a bit countryish, but she has a nice voice, and her harmonies with the other 3 were a very nice touch. Murray did some of his, like Whisperin' Rain, Ian did Painted Ladies, and Marc did Livin in Marina Del Rey, plus others. Marc did a couple of songs that he wrote for Rod Stewart. But, perhaps the best part of the evening was the stories they told. Funny, poignant, revealing. All in all, a great event. Loved it.

    Lunch at Allen's great entertainment

by keywindjim on 2016-10-16Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Go see it. You'll laugh, you'll cry (from laughing), stories are great, music ever better. Music of my youth, played for me when I can finally afford to see these singer/songwriters. All together on one stage. Not sure when we got so old, but thank you. Do yourself a favour and go.

    Come back!

by onthemove on 2016-10-16Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I've been waiting a life-time for Marc Jordan to play in Winnipeg. The fact that he was joined by Ian Thomas, Murray McLauchlan and Cindy Church was an added bonus. That's a lot of talent on one stage: great voices (even with a cold), a tight band, hilarious banter – what more could a fan ask for (well, maybe about 8 more songs by M.J.)?

    Good ol' Canadian

by DMakiZBack on 2012-12-15Arden Theatre - St Albert

Yes I enjoyed sitting and listening to these four homegrown musical talents. There is something unique every time on stage when four established and talented individuals gather there. Hats off to the group and keep going. I especially enjoyed when the songwriter would convey to us where and when they were when they wrote those classic songs some of us grew up with listening to on Canadian radio.

    Even MORE Lunch at Allen's

by Rylander on 2010-12-03The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Who could have thought that anyone would gather Darryl Sittler, Margaret Atwood and Dick Cheney all on the same stage? Well...not me...but it looked as though Cindy Church had accomplished the impossible for a minute there, last Wednesday at Hamilton Place's Studio Theatre. Of course it was Murray McLauchlan, Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas, each teasing the other about what celebrity they most resembled. Just one of many entertaining segments of a marvelous night out. The comedy was first rate, and the music was even better, as these four pros marched through a broad selection of ld hits and new tunes for a capacity crowd. They've all written songs, had hits and had success with cover versions (even Rod Stewart!) but nobody sings the songs like Lunch at Allen's. Don't miss 'em.
