    Lovett always surprises and entertains

by ellabellabop on 2014-10-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Such a talented and classy gentleman. His tunes keep playing in your head long after the concert has ended. I first saw Lovett in concert over 20 years ago, and have been a fan for longer. A generous playlist and great acoustic band. Refuses to be pigeonholed. Whatever you call it, his music is funny, inspiring, touching and personal. To all those Edmontonians who didn't fill the seats, you missed an amazing evening.

    Classy Excellence!

by TheNorthernMuse on 2014-09-27Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

A wonderful 26 song set with Lyle at his wry best. His Acoustic Group was tight with Keith Sewell a standout. It was a delight seeing (and hearing) John Hagen on cello as the promo material gave no indication that he was coming. The set ranged all across Lyle's canon with a mid-set nod to Steven Frumholz with Lyle and the group covering 'Bears'. A pass off to Keith to play his Traveller's Prayer was a nice surprise. A rollicking White Freightliner Blues to close the set had everyone demanding an encore. This Old Porch and South Texas Girl were shout-outs from the crowd and were met with Lyle's 'OK.' as they rolled right into both songs.

Lyle Lovett and his Accoustic Group Impress

by AlonzoStew on 2014-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I have been a fan of Lyle Lovett since the release of the album "Pontiac". The September 23 rd Jubilee Auditorium concert featuring Lyle and his Accoustic Group was amazing. With outstanding support from his fiddler, Luke Bulla, cellist, John Hagen, bass player, Victor Krauss, lead guitar and mandolin player Keith Sewell, and legendary drummer, Russ Kunkel, Mr. Lovett played, sang and introduced his catalog of classic tunes. The crowd was mesmerized at the performances. A night to remember for certain!

    Lovin' Lovett

by Compradore on 2014-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This was some classic Lovett, but with a twist. Wow what a band and combined with that voice, it was a great night of music. Lyle started a little slow, but built a real repoire with the audience.

Lyle Lovett put on an Awesome Show

by SKORR on 2014-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The only thing that would have been even better is if he'd have had the Big Band and Francine Reed with him.

Lyle Lovett and his band was amazing!

by EclecticMix on 2014-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

So much talent on stage! It appeared simple, but it was a very sophisticated performance. Lyle himself was a talented performer and an enjoyable entertainer. It was also lovely to have him share the spotlight with his fellow performers - very classy. I don't know if that's Texas or Lyle, but it's classy. The music was amazing, and pleased a varied audience. I would go again in a heartbeat

    World Class

by JuicyJulez on 2014-09-26Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

These guys are world class. The musicianship is outstanding. Good sound, too (little weird EQ on Lyle's vocals; does he have problems with his voice?)
