Lynne Hanson's music is typically called "Americana", however for this performance she coupled her awesome singing, songwriting & guitar playing talents with Petr Cancura's Crossroads jazz ensemble. The marriage of these two musical genres was MAGICAL! Tremendous dislay of outstanding musicianship!
Lynne Hanson with Petr Cancura's Crossroads was great - "great intentions", great combo!!! All musicians were fabulous. The groove was raw and then more refined but it worked.
Lynne tells an engaging story. I am really impressed with her flexibility to effortlessly add a jazz note to her music. I admire her effort in trying something new. I think it demonstrates her depth as a singer-songwriter. I really like this collaboration idea. Exciting!! I like the interface between her stories and the added layer jazz brings,. She easily makes it her own. I am not completely sure yet, but there is one song I think I like better, because she adds some really noticeable swing. Something I have not heard from her in a while. I cannot wait to hear them!
Well written songs that capture life's moments. What an amazing songwriter. Toe tapping rythym and very memorable. I loved signing along. Lynne has an amazing sense of humour.
