    ManU in heat

by Kenla on 2011-08-02FedExField - Landover

ManU made the game unforgettable. The heat and the access to the stadium (Fedex Field) were horrible. Washingtom Metro had no idea how to accomodate the crowd that should have been anticipated although they managed better on the return journey. My guest (a petite woman) and myself (a large man) were both crushed in the mad scramble on the Metro. The walk to the stadium (and back) was too far especially in the heat of that evening. There didn't seem to be any other reasonable options (e.g. taxis). I suspect that when a football game is played at that venue the home and away supporters know what to expect but many of the visitors that night were there for the first time. They would not have been impressed. The public address system was incomprehensible in both languages. It would have been nice to have the membership of the teams and the substitutions displayed on the screens. (the compere for the interval show was easily understood even though he said Turkish Airlines 20 times! and the point of the exercise was unclear) The seats were comfortable. The view was good. The facilities were excellent. I'm not sure if there was any chance of finding healthier food - less greasy options are becoming popular!!

Fun day, pity the stars didn't come out.

by SqueegeeKid on 2010-07-21Rogers Centre - Toronto

The atmosphere was great, even though i am neither a Celtic or ManU fan. The football was fairly fun, but i'm sure it would have been a lot more exciting if the big names (Rooney, Vidic, Carrick, Anderson and Sung Park) actually turned out. I did have a beef with the $10.25 beers though, far too much in my opinion, regardless of where the venue is, that will always be ridiculous to me. Also there was no smoking anywhere in the Skydome and no in-out privileges, so a tough 3hours+ for smokers. I understand the nonsmoking section, but not letting you leave i found unnecessary. All in all, i had a fun time and am glad i made it out.

It was just amazing watching starts like Giggs, Scholes, Berbatov and Flecther play right in front of my eyes. I hope United come back soon and play more games in Canada.

    Manchester Game was Forgettable!

by DLaw on 2010-07-20Rogers Centre - Toronto

Overpriced tickets to see amateur players and stars on the bench. Funnel everyone in gate 10 and 11? Really 2 gates? I paid 130 dollars for my ticket and I missed the first 10 minutes. At half time a superviser started making new lines for beer and food and was pulling people from the back. I had been waiting 15 minutes already. Again I did not get back to my seat until almost 10 minutes into the second half. Overall a waste of money for the value of the event and total disorganization of the rogers centre staff. Goodluck to anyone going to the inter game next week...

    Manchester United Vs. Celtic

    by britboy13 on 2010-07-19Rogers Centre - Toronto

i thought this was an amazing game between two of the UKs biggest teams, was everything i expected it to be since this was my second United game the other one being at Old Trafford, couldnt have asked for a better louder turnout and this was an all round great game to watch plenty of action through-out it. Would love to see them come back to Toronto in a future game and hopefully one against TFC!!

    Game was great

by vasco on 2010-07-19Rogers Centre - Toronto

Great atmosphere, however spolied by long lineups to get in and the beer line up Took 20 minutes to get beer...this is ridicolous...how can you stage a game when the logistics are so "screwed up" I enjoyed the game tthe parts that that i saw, and was very disappointed that not enough planning and resource were allocated for staff to man the gaytes into the stadium and the vendors inside...who did not seem to have enough "manpower" to serve a hungry and thristy fans Taling to a few people around my section had similar views....if things do not improve there will be a lack of support form the fans...no matter which team ou bring over

    Manchester United fulfilled a dream!

by jazrichards on 2010-07-19Rogers Centre - Toronto

This was a dream come true for me, my wife and my son who has played soccer since he was 8, played for the University of Guleph Varsity sqaud and continues to play. The quality of the game and expecially the experience of the crowd was unforgetable. If only Roony and the rest had come? If you can't go to England to see it this is the next best thing!
