MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER: CHRISTMAS IN CONCERT:
Mannheim Steamroller have been innovators of the neo-classical genre for over 40 years, blending the finest orchestral sections with electronic elements and a hint of rock to arrive at their remarkably unique sound. Not only are their live performances sonically robust, but they're visually stimulating as well, featuring an incredible light show and illustrations that dance across giant projection screens. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Mannheim Steamroller is the alias of composer Chip Davis, who created the moniker from "Mannheim roller", a musical technique that was popular in Germany during the 1700s. Davis initially sought a record label to release his music, but the lack of interest led to the creation of his own label American Gramophone for his 1975 debut album Fresh Aire. He went on to release seven more albums in the Fresh Aire series, six of which were certified gold by the RIAA. His biggest success, however, came in 1984 with the release of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, a massive hit and enduring classic of contemporary holiday music. Since then, his Christmas catalog has grown to include thirteen records, containing some of Steamroller's biggest hits and holding the distinction of being some of the most requested Christmas music of all time. With more than 28 million albums sold in the US, Mannheim Steamroller will carry their musical enthusiasm with them throughout their 2014 shows.

Great show, great sound. Never had seen them before, even though I have most of their Christmas CDs, and some Fresh Aire ones. Wonderful venue, in a beautifully restored old theatre in Buffalo (Shea's). Just a bit disappointed that Chip Davis himself wasn't there.
We were disappointed in this event, we were expecting more traditional Christmas music. Most of the music that was played had very little to do with Christmas themes.we would not recommend it has a Christmas program for next year.
Great to start the Christmas holidays. Video presentation complimented the music.
It was just amazing, and the venue added to the night. The drummers were awesome.
If I could give this minus stars i could. The tickets are expensive and I hope I can advise to not make the same purchasing decision as I did. It is like a bad high school play, I grew up on this music and my mother is a huge fan so we took the whole family. I have never seen so many people asleep in one theatre or a live music show so funny... because it was so bad. If you keep your eyes closed the show will be good but save yourself hundreds of dollars ad do that at home. It looks like they spent about 50 bucks on set design and the graphics on the screen make you crack up how outdated and bad they are. Most of the time they don't even take up 60% of the screen. Hope this helps - it will be a fond memory for us because of the laughing that took place during the show.
Was very disappointed with ALL the pied Piper music. One song would have been plenty I came to see this group for there High Tech music and unique sound NOT a PIPER from Ireland Will NOT waste my money ever again !! Felt very taken for the quality of the seats Concert time should have been 8:00 pm not 7:00 Compared to the last time I was VERY VERY Disappointed ~!!!
The music was incredible, but I found the acrobatics a bit hokey
