by mizman on 2015-12-20Festival Place - Sherwood ParkWe enjoyed an uplifting performance of Mary Poppins at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. On the strength of the vocal performances alone, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and joyful live experience. As a "hard-core" Mary Poppins fan, I was able to go with the flow of the plot adjustments and enjoyed the new scenes as the main story line was true to the original. Even the characters looked similar to the originals! Sly nods to the movie included a quick burst of penguin-like dancing by George Banks near the end of the show. I've been singing "Mary" songs in my head for a few days now because it makes me happy in my heart. Bravo!
