This was our second annual visit to Massey Hall for the New Years Eve Comedy Extravaganza. Caroline Rae was a great host and Emcee - she was hilarious! All the other comedians were very funny - some more than others, but we laughed all evening long. We would definitely attend again next year.
We really enjoyed this year's line-up. Solid comedians, very nice venue.
We enjoyed Shaun Majumder very much...the band wasn t very entertaining....noisy and couldn t understand their words. The other comedians in the evening were all very good. Our seats in the gallery nearly killed us....too cramped and could have used a coat check. Otherwise great evening.
great night off seasoned and veteran comedians, show could have been timed to include midnight celebrations
This is the fifth time that my wife and I have been here for NYE. The host makes the show and this year's was so much better than last year's. What I can not figure out is why we continually get subjected to some weird band ideal. This man is delusional if he thinks what he does is funny. He must be Brealin's brother in law, otherwise how does he make it back year after year with concepts that don't even remote seem funny. I will say though that it continues to be better than the year they had the stripper pole act. Come on Mark, why not give a local band a chance to play Massey Hall instead of some unfunny old timer who thinks he is funny and his self absorbed Double headed Ian Drury concept idea? There has to be more talent about than this.
There was a fairly good assortment of comedians - male, female; from various parts of N.A. Tom Green feels he is funnier if he yells and uses the 'F' word. An awful lot of swearing and mentioning of female private parts seemed to be themes for the comedians; lots of sexual content. Most of the comedy was amusing and interesting at best although there were clearly some funny parts. The best was saved for last, however. Derek Edwards is and was hilarious and did not disappoint. The only disappointing part about Derek was that his segment - given he was the main event - was pretty much the same length as the others. If it were not for Derek Edwards, I would not recommend this show.
The show a great way to ring in the New Year. The entertainers were exceptional.
Hilarious! What better way to end 2014 than to be smiling and laughing all night long. Tom Green was awkwardly funny, as usual and the other comedians were amazing and fun to watch/listen to. Had the audience laughing out loud for the whole show!
Very disappointed. The only thing I enjoyed was the actual venue - Massey Hall is a beautiful old building. There was one comedy act near the end that was acceptable. The MC was terrible.
