It was all Mel Tillis. Very polished group performance. Mel relied on the back too much. He was unable to hold the longer note and runs. The band and back made it work! He sounded the same 30 years ago?! We thought it was a Xmas show but only one xmas song. Quite commercial. Sorry only a half filled 'Jub'. Wrong time of the year. Great seating as always
Great show, great tunes starting to show his age but good for 83 good memories.
When Mel sang it was great, however there was too much talking in between and his son's singing was nice for one song but not three. Maybe they could do duets next time. The backup bang saved the show for me. Excellent artists with some funny banter back and forth. My mother is a big old time country fan and was not impressed. She saw him in Branson a number of years ago and said he sang the whole time and the show was a lot better.
What a wonderful evening with Mel Tillis, Bobby Bare and Mel Tillis Jr. The songs, the stories and the band were amazing and I was so impressed that Mel would take the time to visit a few people in the audience. Obviously he has such a good rapport with his band - they were so hilarious and so talented. A great night again at Casino Rama.
Bobby Bare was amazing, should have been on longer than 30 minutes, but Mel Tillis was unforgettable, now these two artist are Country Music Stars, the greats. We need more concerts with Mel Tillis, and Bobby Bare. Mel's son, Sonny was great as well. Would love to see Mel Tillis in Niagara Falls Casino.
Bobby Bear came on stage first and performed for a half hour. His show was really good. Mel Tillis came out after and performed for an hour and a half. He brought out his son sonny boy. Enjoyed him as well.
Just okay concert. I would of liked to hear more music from Mel and a little less from his son and the story telling. Not enough time for it all. Mel's back up band was bang on and carried the show. Sad that the four front rows were empty? while all other seats were sold out elsewhere.
The show was fabulous. Both Pam and Mel are great performers. Pam is a very classy artist. She sang many of my favourites. Mel's show, however, was not what I had expected, lol, but I was not disappointed. I would love to see them again!!
My husband and I attended and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Pam was wonderful as usual, I just love to listen to her sing. Mel was great, he is an incredible entertainer, very funny also. We completely enjoyed ourselves and would recommend the show to any one who loves country music.
The music was fantastic, his between song chatter was funny (sidesplitting at times) & he was very real & genuine. We were able to meet Mel after the show & you would have thought that he'd known us for years by the way he greeted us.
