Mickey Rooney Tickets

Mickey Rooney was terrific! Full of smiles and energy, showed clips of all his terrific movies, joked about his many marriages and how his life changed when he met his wonderful and talented wife Jan. Jan Rooney is a great performer and sang many wonderful songs. I especially loved the duets she and Mickey did. On the downside, the show was plagued with sound issues and only the poor technical support at the Academy Theatre can be blamed for this. A performer of this calibre should not have had to deal with such an incompetent crew. Mr. Rooney was a gentleman throughout and continued to perform despite the issues.

At 89 Mickey is still the constant entertainer. He sang, joked, reministed, played piano and even did a little soft shoe carrying you along on his journey through his entertaining years. He did a tender tribute to Judy Garland and he was warm and sweet to his present wife Jan who is a remarkable singer in her own right. Even though in the first half the Academy was having issues with the sound system he was quick to react with his ever present wit. It was great seeing him & his wife preform.
