Really enjoyed the venue. Couldn't have asked for a better night. The opening band was fantastic, and everyone had a good time. Even those who weren't into the music. Would definitely go again.
We purchased our tickets online then had to pay for an additional "membership" since it was a "private club" didn't say that anywhere prior to our knowledge. Walking into the bar we were greeted with 6.75 beers and literally watered down Jag. The first and second bands were great however, the Misfits (which I love) came on the stage to a horrible sound of feedback follwed by so much distortion that we had to leave. I know the band and atmosphere know what they are doing however the sound guy needs to be fired yesterday.
So stoked for the Misfits. They played a lot of stellar songs. They put on a super show and I can't wait to see them again!!!
The venue itself was perfect for this kind of event. The opening acts did a good job at ramping the crowd, but didn't play the style of music everyone was looking for. When the Misfits came on, the volume went up to almost an intolerable level, which caused a lot of people to try and keep an ear out for what exactly what song they were playing. They opened with Halloween, which everyone seem to know and was a good kick start. The mosh pit was a good size, but with the moderate amount of drunks, became violent easily. The age group varied between 20-25 year olds, and it seemed nobody really knew who the misfits were or what they played. I personally am not too keen on their newer music, but when they dropped the oldies, they seem to play only half of the song, trying to get through as many songs as possible in a short amount of time. I was waiting for two of my favorites to be performed, but they never got around to them because they spent too much time on their newer material, which of course is understandable, but to leave out where eagles dare, attitude, bullet and last caress? Come on! It was good to have beer at the show, at $4.50 a can for unamed you-brew beer, good merchandise sales, and Jerry Only seemed to leave no fan disappointed by signing everything that was presented to him after the show. The Misfits performed better than I had anticipated, and I hope I get to see them again before they finally retire completely. The only drawback I had was the sound, it was just WAY too loud. The best sound came from the very front row center, which was easy to get to after shoving a couple people around and jumping my way through several mosh pits. I'm a HUGE fan of the Misfits, I would love to see them again, and would highly recommend them to anyone who likes good old fashion punk rock, because they may be old, but they still know how to rock a crowd.
This show was amazing! Not only did they play a lot of old Danzig Misfits, but they played mid-90's Micheal Graves Misfits as well as they're new single too. They didn't stop once, they just flowed from one song right into the next. Afterwards they stayed on stage and signed autographs for an hour until almost every fan had one. It was amazing and the energy from the crowd was great! Just amazing!
