About

MUTEMATH IN CONCERT:

Alternative rock four-piece MuteMath is making their mark on the indie scene with their dynamic synths and driving guitar sound. Whether they're tearing through fan favorites like "Typical" or diving into the audience for a crowd surf, MuteMath always delivers the goods at their electrifying live shows. The band's energy is infectious, and their inimitable showmanship never fails to get fans pumped up and on their thrilling tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

New Orleans act MuteMath formed in 2002 by friends Paul Meany (vocals), Darren King (drums), Todd Gummerman (guitars), and Roy Mitchell-Cardenas (bass). The band initially sent recordings back and forth via email while they were split between Louisiana and Missouri, but they all came together to record their 2004 EP Reset. The release was a hit, spawning whirlwind tours with Circa Survive and Mae that gained the band a considerable cult following. They followed up with their self-titled debut LP in 2006, which peaked at No. 17 on the Top Heatseekers chart, was praised by major media outlets, and earned a number of major festival appearances for the budding group. Since then the four-piece has recorded two more acclaimed albums, been nominated for a Grammy Award, and played for hundreds of thousands of fans around the world. With their expansive collection of popular tunes and sensational stage presence, MuteMath is a must-see live act that never disappoints their eager fans.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I've seen this band 5 times in 4 different cities and they never, NEVER, disappoint. Not only is their music incredible as is, but their live presence and over-the-top antics are something you just need to see together."

"These guys put on such a great live show!!!!! I have a live DVD of theirs, but seeing them in person is so much better. Everyone in the band came into the audience several times through the show. The lead singer stage dove twice! And they played all of the songs from the new album aside from a ton of songs from older albums."

"This was by far the best concert experience I've ever had!  If you are a true MUTEMATH fan then you will love this tour. They make a real effort to play songs from all three of their albums and then every song off of Odd Soul. Not to mention Paul Meany is great singing live and loves to add in a few stunts around the stage."

I had been waiting over 5 years to see MuteMath and it was one of the most magical shows I've ever been too. Everything from the vocals, instrumentals and even the interaction with the crowd was stellar. I can't wait to see them again!

    Mute Math rocks the Phoenix

by thekaptin on 2012-10-10The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Civil Twilight were great, Mute Math wetre beyond phenominal! My only beef: The Phoenix is a hole in the wall concert venue. This show would have been even better at a better venue.

    Mutemath redefines the concert experience!!

by MiChAeLfromToronto on 2012-10-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

What an incredible band these guys are!! If you love their music - you will be very happy with their live show. They perform for their fans; I have been to 7 concerts this year and this concert stands out as the best live performance by far. They love what they do and it really shows! Mutemath could easily perform at the ACC or Rogers Centre but it feels like some of the magic of a small venue would be lost a bit as they use the space completely...you will see ;) Just AWESOME. Go see them. You will want to see them again and again! I would recommend some earbuds, it gets loud - which is great, but just a heads up if you use them - bring them :)

Mutemath - a band that needs to be known!

by muggs1393 on 2012-09-29The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

If you have never seen or have never heard of Mutemath before, please check them out. The are from New Orleans and they are amazing. The lead singer's voice is fantastic and he plays a KEYTAR!!! They are exciting to watch live and you can tell they are giving it their all. For all you drummer fans out there....you need to watch this guy, he is so crazy that before he starts playing he duct tapes the headphones to his head to make sure they stay on!! You have to see it!
