Heritage game was Classic
by moosepeg on 2016-11-09Investors Group Field - WinnipegThe 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic & Alumni Game on October 22 and 23 were a great event. It was a very nice weekend and a joy to watch some great hockey in an outdoors setting. The downside that I saw from the weekend were the long lines to get into the Spectator Plaza. Myself and friends showed up to the game on Sunday 90 minutes before puck drop and thought we could enjoy some of the Spectator Plaza before going into the stadium, but the lineups were just too long and crowded, so we oped to go into the stadium. Once in the stadium, you couldn't leave, so after hearing that the start to the game would be delayed almost 2 hours, we still couldn't leave the stadium to check out the Spectator Plaza. Something could have been done to incorporate the 2 areas. Also, the same complaint about Investors Group Field came up that has been a problem since day one of its opening. The concourse area is not wide enough. Shoulder to shoulder crowding makes it difficult and not enjoyable to go to the washrooms, get food or drinks, or try to visit friends during intermissions in other areas of the stadium.
