The Song selection provided my partner and i an evening of unforgettable memories and images. Loved the back up band.
To be honest - I was doubtful at the beginning as Ms. Cole walked out and started right into her set. There was no real acknowledgement we were there. HOWEVER, after the first 2-3 songs, she opened her eyes looked at us and I then began to see why I was there. Like a freight train I didn't coming, I was taken aback at her range and spectrum of talent and of course the ballads with Dad were eerie cool! Wonderful evening filled with nostalgic moments - you know the King better now through his little princess.
Natalie Cole performed well at the River Rock Casino. Her musical selections were quite diversified. There were Spanish songs, jazz numbers, and some popular melodies. She does enjoy entertaining! The highlight of the evening was when she sang with the video recording of her father. It gave the audience the feeling of how music can span generations The back up band and musicians were commendable. They definitely enhanced the various musical selections that were sung throughout the evening. Natalie Cole has established herself as a respected and talented artist.
Natalie Cole -gave an unforgettable performance, with an outstanding band backing her up. But the band may have been too big - while they were very good, our favorite moments were the more intimate moments when she sang with just piano or a small combo ... when both drummers and the 3 keyboards all played they sometimes overpowered her voice --this would have been a 5 star performance otherwise
Very good show. Ms.Cole still has it. Loved her professionalism and the band was very tight.
we got serenaded by her soothing voice rendering her classic both old and new to the stage, very romantic concert to end our Valentines Day celebration, my husband and i enjoyed the show!
Natalie still has a wonderful voice that can be powerful or intimate as whatever song requires. I was disappointed in the band that primarily consisted of too much too loud percussion that drowned out her voice. She needs to return to a softer accompaniment that includes brass and strings and arrangements more in tune with her very capable romantic side. Ditch the abundance of electronic keyboards altho that might have been to compensate for lack of an orchestra
She was very forgettable. Not the best concert I've been too. She had very little inter-action with the audience. For over half the songs her eyes were closed and she stood or sat on her chair while she sang. The band was okay, but drowned her out on a lot of her songs. The only hi-light was when she sang with her father on the video. She showed a little emotion and the band was not over bearing and Nat could actually sing. To bad that was only for a couple of songs. No I wouldn't recommend her show.
She is a classy lady that sang some jazz, tributes, Spanish music, and some of her old time hits like unforgettable, this will be. The band was amazingly solid with a great sound system. My only crititsism is she only did one encor song.
i love the show! it was fantastic; very impressed because all the songs that she sang was all my favorite. Kudos!
