The show was incredible!! A perfect family tale of the Newsboys strike of 1899. The whole show was filled with energetic choreography that won a tony not to mention the incredible score that also won. The entire audience was energetic cheering for the boys to defeat Pulitzer. What a show you have to see it before it closes Augest 24th.
My family loved this show! I couldn't believe how nostalgic my husband was. It brought back memories from his youth. The dancing is really spectacular. It was very enjoyable.
It was well produced, extravagant, and remarkable in talent. From acting to the sets to the choreography and score, it was great!
This play has it all - excellent choreography, excellent sets, unforgettable songs. But the best thing it has is energy in spades!!
I brought my 3 teenagers to see The Newsies on our first time visit to NYC. We live in a small town and I wanted to expose my kids to a Broadway performance. Although there was some great dancing and a nice performance by Lavon Fisher-Wilson, we all felt the show seemed quite tacky. The songs felt repetitive and the story just didn't seem to hold any of our interests. My eldest teenaged boy (19) asked me if we could leave during the intermission. This show was recommended to me on a TripAdvisor forum to take teenagers to because of the high energy performances, but I really fell that the story was not all that interesting. Maybe we are just not into Disney? I think maybe younger teenaged girls might have enjoyed this show more.
We really enjoyed the music and the performance. This is a very moving story but told in an upbeat way.
