legends of death metal came and destroyed

by ApocalypticCarnage on 2009-10-03The Opera House - Toronto

Where to start with this show? I entered the Opera House to hear the beginning rawr of what will become one of the best shows I've seen all year... when I read the first time that Obituary was heading for Toronto, I was freakin' jacked. one of the legends of old school death metal in the flesh. to witness the devestation of their power live is like nothing else. the other bands that braught their destructive force was one of the best cards you could have for a show like this. the bands were raw and heavy, and the pits were chaotic. Warbringer started the chaos and it didnt stop until the last riff of the night. The Beserker was intense as always. Krisiun destroyed the crowd, was awesome when Alex Camargo dove off the stage after their set. Krisiun in my view was one of the best next to Obituary. they were their for the fans and Alex couldnt thank us enough for our support. the dude lives and breaths metal. Goatwhore was insane as always. and then Obituary hit the stage. the legends, not 10 feet away from my reach. they played the classics, they played new tracks..it was death metal at its finest... it is honestly very hard to write an entire review of a show like this, its a show that you have to witness yourself to embrace the raw power and energy, its something that you will never get from just reading or looking at pictures or videos. nothing can compare. to be there, just the atmosphere is amazing. I always found that at the Opera House. right when you walk in through their doors, it just reacks of metal haha. so i say to everyone now, if a show comes to your town or close by...you better make it your life's goal to make it to that show. it will be an experience that you will never forget... Thrash Till Death \m/

I bought my ticket exclusively to see The Berserker but I was happy that all of the other bands were totally on their game as well. Excellent show. Highly recommend!

    Obituary at the new "Venue"

by LordVenom on 2009-09-16Venue - Vancouver

My first time seeing a show at the newly renovated Venue. The room looked great, but more importantly sounded great. The sound and lights were very good and I had a good view of the big open stage from almost anywhere in the bar. The staff was pleasant and professional. The only thing I would change would be the price of the drinks, but that's what you get on Granville street. I really only got to see Obituary as the opening bands performed very early. Obituary was awesome. A good set list and good sound and an all around good performance.
