good sport to watch, venue not managed well
by stella1234 on 2015-07-14CEB-Centennial Park Pan Am BMX Centre - EtobicokeWe paid for tickets last fall, and were completely aware that this venue was general admission, no problem. However, when we arrived, we were told that the seating stands were full and to move to the other side, to sit on the hill. This may not have been so bad, except that the seating stands were maybe 70% full, while being directed to the hill. Also, the amount of seating in the stands appeared to be less than half of the patrons, not really a sufficient amount of seats. Then, the problem with the hill was that many people on the sides chose to stand, blocking large portions of the view for the majority of the spectators that were sitting so that everyone could see. Many of us had to repeatedly ask persons to sit down so that everyone could see. This could have been better managed by having event staff/volunteers stationed there to ensure that everyone was seated so that everyone would have equal opportunity to see. Also, there should have been a price difference for seats in the stands and having to sit on a hill. It's really too bad, because this is a fun sport to watch but not great when it's not visible due to poor venue planning.
