Stadium was nice but good thing I wasn't hungry!

by firsttimer123 on 2015-08-24HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

The new stadium was nice. The beer was cold. Lineups for food - ridiculously slow. I gave up food after waiting for 20 minutes and the line didn't move. A person in the same row, left for food and returned 50 minutes later....not acceptable.

    Soccer Women's Medal Amazing!!!

by Bettyboop7730 on 2015-07-31HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

I love the fact that the whole world got to see how incredible women's soccer is. Most countries don't appreciate the potential of women in this sport. I'm happy for Canada for being the stage that showcased such magnificent talent this year. Go BRASIL!!! GO CANADA!!!

    hot as hell

by rim2354 on 2015-07-31HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

I found the travel arrangement by the City of Hamilton to be terrible; they forced us to park at one end of the City while the event was at the other end of the City. They took us to the event by school bus which took at least 35 minutes each way; not including the wait. Of course school buses are not air conditioned so it was very hot in the bus. It was a hot day and to make it worse we had to take the bus without air con. Parking a block away from the event was the same price $10 as what I paid and had to take the bus. I could have parked a block away for the same price and not go through the hassle of taking the bus with two impatient young children. The organizer wasted 1.5 hours of our time; this is important as I live in Markham so it takes a long time to get there in the first place. I went to five other events and this one was the worse.

    Disappointing Venue.

by Eclectic84 on 2015-07-30HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

Really disappointed with how this venue was set up. I was seated in the furthest section of the stadium - top level, and the only water refill station was on the bottom level in the opposite side, by the entrance. What was even worse, once we gave up on refilling the bottles we brought (that we had to dump at the gate) we had to wait in line for over half an hour to purchase drinks. The venue was equiped with multiple food kiosks, however only one was open! Because of this wait we missed almost the entire second half of the match! Once we got to the front of the line we were told they ran out of water. I asked if I purchase the two bottles on display and get some ice, but the person next to me had already asked for them AND they were also out of ice. The match was at when the sun was at its peak, it was over 30 degrees out, and the stadium is open with no over-head coverage. I'd really appreciate a refund. On a side note: The day before my cousin was there and the Disani water she purchased was warm - like it was left out in the sun.

Great soccer, venue and organization found lacking

by bigtentfan on 2015-07-30HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

The soccer was great, but we found the design of the venue ruined our experience. Because the concession stand ran out of bottled water, and there was a 30 minute line up at the water bottle refilling station, we missed a good portion of the event itself, which took place on a very hot day...even the soccer players were given water breaks. Why do the washrooms only have hot water? Why is there only one water station for one whole side of the stadium? Then, the fans who didn't want to sit in the sun ended up standing on the concourse where the concessions are - blocking everyone's ability to get to the concessions and water station and washrooms...Very bad planning and poor design for a brand new stadium. If you are going to limit the amount of free water available to fans, then at least make sure the concessions are well stocked on the hottest day of the year!!!

GReat event; nice venue. Check-in was too slow, so we missed first part of the game.

    Rockin' Gold Medal Footie Match!

by Nancedefrance on 2015-07-29HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

FAB match! Great game! Can't believe there wasn't more hype about this event. When the next World Cup rolls around in 2018 many of these players on both the Mexican and Uruguayan teams will be household names.

    lousy seats

by Anonymous on 2015-07-29HAM-CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium - Hamilton

While the bronze medal game was excellent, the experience at the CIBC stadium was terrible. Since we weren't able to select our seats personally, we were sold a seat that I'm told by a Toronto Star reporter I spoke with at half-time, aren't available for Tiger Cat games. Why? Because they're right in the path of the stairs to the upper decks. Which means that every time a spectator needed to use the stairs, they couldn't just squeeze by - I had to vacate my seat. Given the number of empty seats at the stadium, it makes me wonder why organizers would venture to sell such lousy seats for the Pan Am games, when the same seats are unsellable for other sporting events. Gouging, perhaps??
