Rating: 5 out of 5 Wheelchair Rugby, medal rounds
by kiwishwa on 2015-08-17MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - MississaugaWhat a fantastic evening. Facility great, parking free & organised. Volunteers super friendly. Can see why its called Murderball, but wow, what athletes. A really unique game. Everyone courteous when leaving the full parking, letting people in etc, never experienced that leaving a full lot before. I would certainly recommend both the venue & definitely the sport. Great night with my son.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Great action, not-existent seats
by GOLDZON on 2015-08-17MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - MississaugaIf you haven't yet experienced wheelchair rugby, you must. This sport is fast-paced, has tons of action, and is incredibly exciting. It probably helped that Canada and the US were fighting for gold, but the bronze medal game, between Columbia and Brazil, was exciting as well. It's amazing what these athletes can do, given the limitations of their bodies. The reason this event doesn't receive 5 stars has nothing to do with the sport. Our seats were removed from the Hershey Centre, so we had to track down an usher (which took some time), who didn't know why the seats had been removed (probably for prior activities in the arena, he said). He had to track down folding chairs for us, and the other 12 or so people in our row. We missed about a quarter of the first game. So we were really unimpressed. You think that when you purchase seats to an event, they will actually be screwed in where they're supposed to be.
Rating: 5 out of 5 amazing display of athletic prowess!
by TNMargaretRose on 2015-08-17MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - Mississaugaa fellow occupational therapist and I who have been prescribing wheelchairs for a few years now decided on this event thanks to the movie 'Murderball' that we were exposed to in our program at school. On screen it looks hardcore and messy and loud and super competitive - - live it was even better!! These guys and gals are worthy of all the applause and ovations and yes, Canada won :) which of course adds to the excitement, the Columbia/Brazil game was played with different strategies and was as good if not better than than the Gold medal game. Overall - - we fell in love with a few of the players and of course the game. So amazing! You must check this sport out!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Inspiring
by pickering on 2015-08-16MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - MississaugaFantastic to see these parapan athletes compete. The wheelchair rugby is a little scary to see due to the intensity and physical collisions. I wasn't prepared but I was captivated. Our #33 is an inspiration, his spirit oozes out of him. The Canadians were dominant but also very sportsmanlike, which makes us so proud.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Para Pan Wheelchair Rugby
by ontar10 on 2015-08-16MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - MississaugaExcellent action when Canada was on court. Too bad there were really only two countries present that play the sport. Saw two blow outs and didn't stick around to see USA play since it was going to be another blow out. Go See Canada vs. US but don't waste your money on any other countries.

by TitoCloe on 2015-08-14MIS-Mississauga Sports Centre - MississaugaIncredible experience. After a couple of minutes, you forget that these athletes ( and they are athletes) have physical limitations. It is action packed and fast paced.
