Truly a memorable evening. Petula has a voice and a presence , she is incomprable. Her voice can make you cry and bring you so much joy, what a talent. I have never seen anyone of her age in such rare form. No one in the theater wanted her to leave, just amazing.
She was terrific. She can still really sing and told some interesting stories about her career. I wish she hadn't changed the arrangement and tempo of some of her original hits but at least she didn't for "Downtown". It sounded better than ever.
Petula was amazing! Although a bit older now, her voice was very good. She sang all her popular hits plus some new songs she wrote. Very impressive. She sang some songs from some shows she was in. She told stories about her life and experience. She shared stories about other famous people she met in her life. Venue was great. Band was great. We had a great time!
The Princess Theatre at the CNE is a tad dated. The seating and carpeting remind me of cinemas 30 years ago. Still better than having to travel to downtown Toronto. Ms Clark put on a good show. Her library of hits were staggering. She has some issues hitting the high notes but those few times were understandable at 86 years old. So happy we got to see her.
For an octogenerian, Petula did an amazing job! She presented her best known songs and shared some of her new work and other artists she has covered. I have fond memories of Petula's music from the 1960's and appreciated her concert immensely. Thank you, Petula!
I enjoyed Petulla Clark's show but was disappointed that she didn't sing more of her older songs which I expected to here. She was promoting her new album which I understand but most of the audience was older and I'm sure they expected to here her older songs.
I have been to over 200 concerts in my life,loved Petula's songs from back in the 60's,so the wife and I decided to see how she's doing,we knew going in she is 85.We were totally blown away by this performance,this young lady was outstanding,the hits,the stories,the overall joy in the audience was amazing,she didn't take any breaks in her almost 1 1/2 hour performance.Great choice to go,well worth seeing Petula,wow,85 years old,class act all the way.
Petula Clark is 85 at the time of writing this, and sadly it shows in her singing. Overall her voice was weak, her singing poor and she couldn't carry the songs the way she used to. It was nice to see such an icon in person, but given the poor performance, we wouldn't see her again.
Petula Clark was full of Positive Energy, and had a lot of Interesting Stories to tell to which i could easily relate. Her Voice is still Fantastic.
At 85 Ms. Clark is still full of spit and vinegar. She has a great sense of humour and is a good story teller. Her voice is still strong. I enjoyed every moment of her concert and would definitely attend again if I could.
