About

Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.

    Great high energy concerts

by RobinKing on 2018-08-27Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Both Phillip Phillips and Gavin Degraw put on great performances. Right from the opening number to the final song 3hrs later we were totally entertained. I would highly recommend this concert to all who are fans of great musicians and songwriters.

    great concert lousy venue

by janedoh on 2018-04-11The Opera House - Toronto

Phillip Phillips puts on a really good show. He has a great energy, while seeming perfectly at ease on the stage, and a fabulous band. He reminds me a lot of Dave Matthews minus all the self indulgence. He had an excellent response from the audience, which ranged from young kids to old folks. I don't know why he isn't a whole lot more popular. The venue, The Opera House in Toronto, was horrible though. Dark, dirty, almost no seating for those of us who couldn't stand for 4 hours. We watched the show sitting on dingy uncomfortable couches at the back of the second floor balcony through the legs of the people standing in front of us. I still enjoyed the concert, but I have seen Phillip Phillips in a proper theatre with seats, and it was a much much better experience.

Phillip Phillips is worth seeing live!

    by 22buttercup on 2015-02-17Casino Rama - Rama

Casino Rama is more of a sit down place to watch a show, and he may be used to more energy, but he was AMAZING!!! I will go and see him again and again! He did a perfect job of combining both his albums so the people that hadn't heard much of his second album didn't get lost.

    Impressed

by PepperGirls on 2015-02-07The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Concert was far more than expected. Expecting the rather quiet, subdued Phillip Phillips (PP) from American Idol, sitting on a stool, playing his guitar and singing his songs. And I would have been perfectly happy with that. But I was pleasantly surprised by his confidence, and his outgoing personality and wit were evident in his interaction with the audience. Most impressive, though, was the calibre of the musical talent of PP and his bandmates. They exuded passion for the music they were making - from PP, the guitar players, key board player, trumpet/trombone player, and drummer. Loved the lyrics, but the music - WOW! The only negative was that the concert was short in comparison to others I've attended - 1 hour plus encore of 10-15 minutes. But that hour was full out - non-stop energy and awesome music. Would definitely recommend and would go to see the concert again.

    Phillip Phillips was great

    by babyboo2u on 2015-02-05Casino Rama - Rama

Yes, we went to see Phillip Phillips at Rama and enjoyed his show. He is a talented guy. His love of music is evident and his capacity to feel the moment was noticed. His capability to play the guitar is amazing and he's in the zone with every song. Thought he was a bit more Rock than Pop but loved him and would recommend anyone to see his show. We would surely go again. Best of luck to Phillip as he grows as an artist.

    Phillip Phillips da best!

by threeceas on 2015-02-04Caesars Windsor Colosseum - Windsor

Amazing as ever. Love his emotion-laden voice, expressions and performances. Noticed he's gaining confidence as chats a bit more with the audience now. LOVED when he invited attendees to come up and stand in front of the stage! Only complaint is show was too short, just a little over an hour. I can understand why though - the poor man had a cold he was fighting, a cut finger and had to fly out to South Africa 2 days later! I was lucky to snag left of stage front row tickets from a friend, otherwise I was in F5 so would have had 2 watch it on screen. Terrible venue as room is twice as wide as the stage, so 2 far sections on right and two on left have terrible sightlines!
