We, among other families, left this performance mid-way through. The performers seemed tired and unenthusiastic and the animals seemed genuinely scared. When the picked up the little 'weiner' dogs and literally dropped them down the slide, it was time to go. The animals may have been rescued but they do not appear to be loved pets but a meal ticket.

    Popovich comedy pet show

by Goferret on 2014-12-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

A bit disappointing. I have seen this show in Vegas and really enjoyed it but Sunday's show at the RR was not like that show. Much fewer animals. There seemed to be problems with the drapes opening and closing. The music came to abrupt stop then into another song suddenly. The worst thing is that during at least 3 acts of juggling, the performers dropped their props. It just seemed to be a very 'bargain' show. I noticed children in the audience seemed to find it funny. I had 1 child and 5 adults in my party. The other comments from my party were that they thought they were going to see more animals as did I. In the end I would give this a 6.5 out of 10 and not buy a ticket for a future show....unfortunately, which is sad because this family does amazing things with animals and its a very rare show.

    Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre

by MChevre on 2014-12-17River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Sooo great! They don't make shows like this anymore: vaudevillian, hear-felt, shabby, sincere, worn, funny, tired, earnest. Some real classic material at work here as Gregory weaves a thin plot with stunts, animal tricks and pre-recorded soundtrack. The animals are great, and seeing them sitting at desks wearing backpacks during the schoolroom scene had the audience enchanted. There were lots of moments, and this is a real kids' show so go with youngsters.

Adults and kids thoroughly enjoyed the show. Magical and exceptionally well performed. The animals are natural and enjoy doing their parts. Kept everyone mesmerized the whole time.

The World Famous Popovich - Comedy Pet Theatre

by CHUCKit2ME on 2013-12-19River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

This show is great for any age. Popovich is a very talented performer himself, and what he has taught his furry rescues is amazing. The timing of each act with the pet performers must have taken tremendous work to accomplish. The costumes were terrific too. I highly recommend this show!

    Ok for younger kids

by mamyte on 2013-12-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Went to event as two families with kids ages 5-10. The 5 year old had probably the best time. The older kids did enjoy show too, but when asked later said it was boring. If I was in Vegas I would skip the show for sure. There are much better ones to spend your time and money on. The show is as the artist himself says " in tradition of a soviet circus" . You will hear Russian a lot, but there always was an English comment following. The decorations are very mediocre. Really what you will see is 3 star juggling by main performer. One star performances by other artists and number of cats and dogs doing simple tricks. Bottom line, of you have 4-6 year old he/she will have good time. Do not take more adults than necessary. Last note, kids under 4 seem to be getting bored.

    Very disappointing!

by Dotthebug on 2013-12-18River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Took my girls to the show because I thought it would be a good night out. The show started 15 min late and was over in just over an hour! Waste of money! Cheesy and not very entertaining. And not everyone speaks Russian!

    GREAT SHOW EVER!!

by zenfruit on 2013-12-16River Rock Casino - Richmond

It was amazing from the beginning when the dogs arrived on stage to make announcement. Then gets to the dogs rescuing the cats, to the train where the animals are all aboard! Including mice and doves. His solo performance was professionally done, even though he missed one or two juggles. Still his enthusiam and silliness created a fun atmosphere for all ages at the show. It keeps going with the animals performing, really it makes the animals the main star rather than Popovich, himself. For all animal lovers or just want to be amaze, I highly recommend the show. Not only you support the show but encourages the animals to be themselves.
