About

Founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995, the Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque dance revue based in Los Angeles, spawned a second revue in Las Vegas, grew into an A-list phenomena with a revolving cast of guest celebrities, and eventually became a recording act with a number one dance hit. It wasn't long after launching its revue that the troupe began attracting actresses and models who wanted to become a Pussycat Doll for a night. Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, Kelly Osbourne, Pink, Britney Spears, Carmen Electra, and Gwen Stefani are just some of the names who donned lingerie and pinup costumes and joined the Dolls for their flirtatious shows. An appearance in the 2003 film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle was followed by numerous television appearances, most with Carmen Electra. Capitalizing on the nationwide attention and the addition of former Eden's Crush member Nicole Scherzinger as lead singer, the single "Don't Cha" with special guest Busta Rhymes appeared at the beginning of 2005 and climbed to number two on the pop chart, number one on the dance chart. With help from the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am and producer Timbaland, the Pussycat Dolls recorded their full-length debut. The A&M label released PCD, a Top Ten hit, in the summer of 2005. In 2008 member Carmit Bachar left to pursue a solo career while the Interscope label announced that a solo album from Scherzinger was being put on hold after four teaser singles failed to climb the charts. Continuing on as a five-piece, the Dolls released both the single "When I Grow Up" and the album Doll Domination that same year. "When I Grow Up" reached the Top Ten in 16 countries. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi

    Save your money

    by Horrible! on 2020-02-11

I went the last time they were in Vancouver a couple of years ago and it was a horrible show! I thought I would see maybe one original pussycat dolls but it was just some other girls filling in. I saw a Robin after the show walking around and got a pic... I should’ve told her how disappointed I was.. Only afterwards they see all the negative reviews from their tour. They should make sure to tell you that none of the original pussycat dolls are in this travelling copycat show.

    Expensive Strip show...literally

    by n1720 on 2011-10-01Casino Rama - Orillia

so it's not what i even expected it to be at all whatsoever. my friend & I were thinking going in that Nicole and the REAL pussycat dolls were gonna perform...fail and a half. the show is nothing burlesque theme at all either. I honestly felt like I was a at a strip show, and the dance moves were repeated way too much, got really bored. False advertisement... the actual pussycat dolls are not there...sooo that sums up the whole show. And carmen Electra, beautiful, but, get actual dance moves.

    pussy cat duds

by sunnydayz on 2011-06-22river rock casino - richmond

We attend the river rock on a regular basis and i must say this was by far the most disappointing event. Can't even bring myself to say it was a 'show'. I could have saved myself the $160.00 and stayed home watching the same music videos. The girls were beautiful, BUT they were out of sync, and lacked the enthusiasm and sex appeal that usually comes with a burlesque show. 20 minutes on stage, come one! it was truly a joke. can i have a refund please.

The show was basically 2 or 3 dance moves repeated over and over with alot of hair flipping. No highlights, no finale. The show was barely 30 minutes long, including what appeared to be a PCD promotional video. We were waiting for it to get to the good part but then it was over.

    Not worth the money

by Frankyg on 2011-06-21River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

What was displayed was very good but I think that 1/2 an hour of entertainment certainly does not warrant the cost. Very disappointed. Talked to people after the show and all were disappointed at to the length of the show.

Pussycat Dolls Burlesque not worth the money

by Anonymous on 2011-06-21River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

I must say that the 20 minutes of show was entertaining. However I was VERY disappointed in the overall experience. There was 25 minutes of a warm up act. A singing trio, who started 15 minutes late. 10 minutes of "sales" pitch. 20-25 minutes of dance from the Pussy Cat Dolls. Very expensive evening. I understand that because of the intensity of the performance the girls would need a break but maybe smaller groups and some costume changes would stretch it out to at minimum 45 minutes. Definately not worth $70.00 !!

    Was ok while it lasted

by NathJam on 2011-06-20River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

So the whole show from start to finish (including the opening act, was about an hour and a half) The hour of that was the opening act and the opening video. Carmen and the PCD were only on stage for about half an hour. We were both very very disappointed with the amount of time they were on. It really wasn't worth the ticket price. The show that WAS on was well done and put together, but there just really wasn't enough of it at all to warrant that price.

Pussy Cat Dolls missed the mark on Burlesque

by laceytassles on 2011-06-20River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

First off the opening act was not at all Burlesque. The Pussy Cat Dolls were missing Nicole Scherzinger, very disappointing. There was very little strip teasing and too much "Britney Spears" hair whipping. Burlesque should be a sexy strip tease with props and a hint of humour and this show did not really exhibit that. The show was too short. I attended the Annual Burlesque Show at the Vogue and the girls had prettier costumes, better choreography, imaginative use of props and THEY ACTUALLY STRIPPED! Granted there was cellulite and fully figured woman, but I would take that over the hair whipping abs of the pussy cat dolls. I left disappointed!
