What a Canadian Open it was

    by Jerry Thunder on 2023-12-27

My wife and I have been going to the Canadian Open for seven or eight years straight minus the one Covid cancellation year. Oakdale was fantastic not only because of Nick Taylor winning, the course setup from a fan’s perspective was nice. It was easy to get around, food services were way better this year than it was at St. George’s. We were lucky to get seats in the First Tee bleachers right behind the pin on 18 and saw all of the craziness with the playoff and the festivities afterwards. Do some research on the course layout, parking and fan requirements in advance and the experience will be much better for you, see everyone at Hamilton GCC in May.

    Story book for my nephew

by Master Bruce on 2023-06-17Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

I bought tickets for my brother-in-law last year for his birthday. For us both it was our first ever experience. But I want to go back a bit , my brother-in-law has been playing golf for his whole life and myself , 3 years now . When i started I was in a mentally low spot and this game saved my life mentally . It challenged me , humbled me, and made me see the bigger picture of the many rewards through such consistent practice that this game has to offer. Stepping through the main gates into the RBC Canadian Open , being a Canadian , walking along some of my idols like Mcilroy, Fleetwood , Connors , Hadwin, Taylor, is an experience I’ll never forget. Witnessing the elegance and mental strength on full display with these pros all coming down to the wire and for it to have both taylor and fleetwood, insert mind blown emoji . I want to thank RBC and those at the Canadian open , staff, volunteers , for making my first event one that has imprinted in my heart as it was a pleasure to be apart of such and iconic moment for the PGA but also for Canadians and those like me who aspire to give back to golf what it’s given me and that’s my life back . See you at TPC Osprey Valley in 2025 .

    Lost on the golf course.

by Billie on 2023-06-16Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

We had a good time, enjoyed the golf, but spent too much time wandering around without knowing where we were going. They need to have maps on paper! Not everyone has a cellphone. We had the app, but you can't really see where you are in relation to the whole golf course.

    First time attending.

by Boosie on 2023-06-15Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

I would recommend paying the extra cost for the accessibility of the 1904 tent. It provided shade and seating. Be prepared to pay $14 for a hamburger and $13 for a beer! A bit excessive. Lots of portable toilets available.

    Not the Easiest!

by BERNIE on 2023-06-15Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

Not many scoreboards visible for the public. No Player pairing sheets given to the public. We had to keep checking our phones to see scores and pairings. Very hilly golf course, not friendly for the elderly.

    Was nice

by Pgalanis on 2023-06-14Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

People were nice the show was good but the sound quality and video screen could have been improved a bit at times. The greens did not look as nice in person compared to on tv. Very little seating available to chill and wait for Alanis to start but it is a golf course not a park so no real complaints other than - a few more drink options and food options would have been nice.

    Canadian Open - Oakdale

by Brian the Lion on 2023-06-14Oakdale Golf & Country Club - North York

Great golf tournament with friendly volunteers. The golf course was spectacular. Only MAJOR complaint was parking - down to one lane entering the main parking lot. Took us an hour to get in and we got one of the last spots (lots of other people behind us!). Poor signage and directions for parking didn’t help.
