    Radiolab Live

by apixie on 2013-10-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The event meet and exceeded my exceptions. Being introduced to the podcast 2 years ago I am impressed with the effort they, the quality information and the high standards of production. The live performance meet the same standards they give in their podcasts. Visual and live musicians added and exceeded my expectations. Great event; Thanks to all who were involved

    Cleverly Entertaining

by Jewels7 on 2013-10-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I wasn't sure what to expect from the show, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's still a little hard to describe ... think of it as an incredible blend of science, music, visual imagery with engaging dialogue.

    A bit disappointing

by sofabag on 2013-10-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

As a long-time Radiolab fan, I went to this even with high expectations. I thought it would be so cool to see an onstage representation of the vast array of topics they cover on the show. I was, unfortunately, a bit let down. The three screens used as a backdrop contained visuals that barely changed throughout the show, and when they did it was with a visible hand in front of a projector. The first story, about dinosaurs, was pretty cool--there were some awesome puppets--but it went on for way too long and they quickly ran out of visuals. After that it felt like they were trying to kill time. An audience participation "vote" on something inconsequential felt like a teacher who forgot to plan their class, and the last story was so boring I nearly fell asleep. All in all, for having spent quite a bit of money on the tickets, I was not impressed. Maybe they should just stick to the audio format.

Radiolab Live lived up to expectations

by Armstrong on 2013-10-08Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Radiolab Live was a great experience seeing how Jad and Robert do their thing. Having visual effects was also a lot of fun - dinosaur puppets and great video images - this added a lot. Only downside was the last part on Parkinson's - a real downer after a fun evening. This part had poor visuals, the story was too long and in an effort to be uplifting it dragged out and was somewhat depressing. Nevertheless, would definitely see this again.
