    Great Show Terrible Neighbours

by Traveller on 2023-10-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The warm-up artist was okay but, sitting in the mezzanine level, the lyrics were a little hard to make out. Ray LaMontagne was incredible and I enjoyed every song. I will def see him again should he return. The musicians with him were very talented and I enjoyed them as well. Unfortunately, I was sitting next to two women that were on their phones, talking (loudly) and singing through the entire concert. I know the venue staff may not be able to control this but it took away from my entire experience. I was so annoyed. I didn't pay $100+ a ticket for some intoxicated fan to sing in my ear. I finally said something close to the end of the concert but these days you need to be careful with confronting such behaviour, especially when they've been drinking. I love going to live concerts but these type of attendees spoil it for the rest of us that just want to sit back and enjoy the music. C'est la vie

    Flawless as always

by Mel Pretty on 2023-10-17Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Great song selection. Played 80% of the songs I had hoped and all delivered flawlessly as usual. One of the most underrated artists in North America.

    Awesome Intimate Concert

by sydmal on 2023-10-11Jack Singer Concert Hall at Arts Commons - Calgary

Ray Lamontagne put on a great show. The Jack Singer Concert Hall was a fantastic venue, and made the concert feel very intimate. I would definitely get tickets to see him again next time he's passing through!

    Amazing show!

by Trevor on 2023-10-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Ray Lamontagne's recent performance at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre was a revelation in live music. With his soulful voice, he surpassed the studio versions of his songs, leaving the audience in awe. What stood out was the intimate connection he forged with the audience. His introspective lyrics felt like he was baring his soul, and we hung onto every word. Backed by an exceptional band, the synergy was electric. Ray's surprises, including fresh takes on classics, kept us cheering. Newer material was met with equal enthusiasm, showcasing his growth as an artist. What makes Ray exceptional is his ability to create an intimate atmosphere even in a large venue. It felt like a personal conversation through music. In essence, Ray Lamontagne's concert was unforgettable, a testament to his musical prowess and emotional depth. If you ever get the chance to see him live, don't miss it. It's an experience that lingers long after the music stops. Thank you, Ray, for sharing your incredible talent and spirit with us. It was an honor to witness your musical greatness.

    Ray’s Heart Rules

by Seventy something on 2023-10-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

My only surprise was how many people were going for drinks and snacks throughout the 2 hour set! Spot-on sound system, flawless musicianship. Ray’s genuine love of the lyric and vocal accuracy was especially impressive given that he was about 35 shows into 40 shows in 50 nights. His three song encore spoke volumes as we followed him on the highway to the sun…

Not as good as past shows

by Michael on 2023-10-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Ray is such an unbelievably talented artist but i couldn't help but feel that this show was somewhat lacking. The lighting was very poor and all three musicians wore hats for most of the show so you couldn't see their faces (no uplighting either). It was an incredibly mellow show and lacked some of the emotional swings of Ray shows of the past. Don't get me wrong, Ray is as talented as ever but this show just seemed lacking and the stage presence and energy were not up to years past. Both the other band members are great musicians but faced each other so you also couldn't see there talents whether it be on the drums or keyboards. It was almost too simple of a production. We were 27 rows back and I really didn't get that great emotional connection of years past. Still good, just not great.

    AMAZING

by Debbie on 2023-10-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was the best concert I have seen in a long time. Ray...the man...the beard...the legend...lived up and surpassed all expectations. If you closed your eyes you could swear you were at home listening to his album on the turntable.

Why did you do the opener so dirty?

by worldserious on 2023-10-10Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Loved Ray, he was amazing! Was super excited to see the opener Sara Beth Tomberlin and was so confused when Ray came on and somehow missed the opener having arrived 30 minutes after doors supposedly opened. My email said doors open at 7:30 pm and nothing about set times anywhere on live nation social media. I was super sad to miss SB, she deserved more from promoters and wonder if it had something to do with her being outspoken about merch fees for indie artists. Ray spoke highly of her as an opener and I really hope I get a chance to see her soon.
