    The WOW factor!

by redcloud72 on 2011-08-23Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

I have been lucky enough to see RTF in 2008 at DTE with Al Dimeola and they were as incredible now as they were then . The encore of course blew me away with Stanley doing school days. This is the third time I got to see the great Stanley Clark, once with Bela Fleck and Jean Luc Ponty, and twice with RTF. Simply Amazing!!

    easy review

by Flipper153 on 2011-08-10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

BEST SHOW OF THE SUMMER, THE BEST. RTF ARE AN AMAZING GROUP OF MUSICIANS. STANLEY CLARKE IS A MONSTER AND WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION ALONE, JON-LUC PONTY ONE OF A KIND, AMAZING, WHITE, GAMBALE, COREA. WELL WORTH THE TICKET PRICE AND THE SON OF THE MAESTRO FRANK ZAPPA. THIS IS A TRIBUTE NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A TRIBUTE BAND. DWEEZIL PAYS HOMAGE TO FRANKS MUSIC. DWEEZIL HAS TRANSFORMED HIS GUITAR STYLE AND IS QUICKLY EVOLVING INTO A PLAYER FRANK WOULD BE PROUD OF. WITH HIS ENSEMBLE DWEEZIL AND ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA ARE THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE WITH YOUR CLOTHES ON. TRULY ONE OF THE TOUGHEST REPITIORES ON THE ROAD TODAY now please ticketmaster bring this show to Canada !!!!! Hamilton Place ? Sony Centre ? PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW TO US ! PLEASE BRING US GOOD MUSIC

    Does it get any Better

by AMFY on 2011-07-11Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Having the pleasure of seeing The Boys once again just an awesome experience....( Does it get any better ?) The Lads were in fine form, and like good wine only seem to get better with age! have seen all the members as solo acts but none compares to when they come as RTF IV an added bonus with the addition of Frank Gambale & Jean Luc Ponty, seems no other media went to cover this act (Thier loss) with the calibre of musicians on stage talk about a Super Group!! The solo's were awesome, the stage simple and the focus was on the music.....its not often we get a chance to see this come to Toronto nice to see the Group again.

    I love Return To Forever

by grirwa on 2011-07-06Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This was an amazing concert. This band is very very cool. Return To Forever is extremely professional in the way they handle their instruments. They were having lots of fun playing and interacting with the audience. They showed lots of respect for each of other. It was just like a group of long-time friends just having an awesome time together. It was a real treat seeing Jean Luc Ponty. I will be looking for some of his music, dvd's and cd's. I would like to see Jean Luc Ponty live with his band.

    Disappointing

by Jrpy on 2011-07-04Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

These are all brilliant musicians but the combination of bad sound engineering and music that hasn't progressed made for a disappointment - we left at the intermission! Why do the sound engineers think that at a venue like the Sony Centre, which is excellent, that they have to emulate a 60's pop concert with gut churning loud base that obliterates all the other sound? Move on! We want to HEAR the music, not be assaulted by it! Unfortunately, while the music was technically very good, the material just seems locked in the 70's and therefore very dated. These are talented guys - they deserve better material!

Return to Forever was fantastic!!! A"man" band!

by Biageetze on 2011-07-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

As Mr. Lenny White said during the intermission, this music is a real 'man's' band. The entertainment is the music itself. The muscianship is outstanding!

    RTF4 rock'd and swing'd!

by AlexT on 2011-07-01Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

They've rock's and swing'd for an audience ranging (at least) from 10 to over 70. Thunderous start at almost heavy metal intensity but recalling many of the moment when they've switched from rock to jazz via fusion some time ago. From fusion classics to creations of their own solo careers the band was perfectly balanced at all times with solos as well as great collective moments. As the concert evolved toward the acoustic part the true mastery of these "best of" instrumentalists let also more of their improvisation skills to be enjoyed. No doubt the best jazz band of today and the highlight of this year's TO Jazz Festival. Too bad that the public let it go after just one encore....

    Amazing!

by Stickist on 2011-07-01Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I have to say that this has taken top spot as the best concert I have ever been to.  Period.  I am still feeling blown away by the sheer musicianship of the band.  Stanley Clarke's bass playing especially. They played with taste and rocked as hard as any rock band could - with taste!  From the moment the show began, to the moment it ended seemed a blink of the eye and when they eventually stopped playing 2.5 hours after they began, I can't remember wanting a concert to continue more.  If they add dates to the tour and come back to Toronto again, I would not miss it. Seriously blown away!
