THE RIGHT TO CURL FOR CANADA IN KOREA

by CURLERCAL on 2017-11-11Credit Union Place - Summerside

The venue was one of the best I have seen , having been a competitive curler for 40+ years and having represented my Province at a Canadian Championship. The event was extremely well organized, as are all Canadian national Curling tournaments, the venue was extremely clean, the people were great, etc. All in all it was a great experience with one exception. I was not prepared for how cold it was inside, having been to several Briers where just a shirt would be comfortable. Winter coat [which I did not bring as I was travelling] and a toque [which I luckily had] were appropriate wear! But I learned this had been done for a reason to permit the professional ice makers to provide perfect ice conditions for the curlers. Since this is always of paramount importance, for the Curlers as well as the fans, I happily endured!!

    4 sheets of fun

by JCurler on 2009-11-24Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

Road to the Roar was well organized, action packed and a load of fun. The crowds were small but enthusiastic. We made great friends in our seating area. The crowd size had more to do with the fact that although these were top curlers the really BIG SHOW is in Edmonton next month. The early week crowds may have been a bit larger if the single ticket price were less than $25 + . This is a bit high as it amounted to about $120 for the 4 draws on Monday and Tuesday. I would definitely do this again

    Better than TV

by Lenhb on 2009-11-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

The curling was excellent and very evenly matched. All games were close but 2. With four active sheets the interest level was always high and keeps the interest.

Road to the roar was fabulous

by Bluetree on 2009-11-16Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

Viewing curling in -person is fantastic. 4 rinks, of high calibre curlers are very challenging and very exciting. For people who enjoy watching curling on TV, the in-person experience is not to be missed

    Phenomenal Curling!

by JDBC on 2009-11-16Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

The curling was unbelievable, right from the start! There was so many fantastic shots that it's impossible to pick a favourite. It was cool to see a lot of young teams that we don't get to see at the Scott or Brier since only one team represents each province. The full event pass was a really reasonable price to see a lot of great curling.

Hard On The Butt but exciting

by Yrrah on 2009-11-15Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

I thought with four games per day, it was a bit much since the seating was uncomfortable to me. I found I was only able to take in three games per day. The location was great, the curling was awesome. Several nail biting games on the ice during the challenge. The seating recommended by Ticketmaster was good and close to the action. I can't complain with the quality of the competition nor the facilities.

Road to the Roar was great

by dcba on 2009-11-15Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

Unfortunately, although Prince George is a great city, it probably was not the best place to hold the Road to the Roar. As this took place in the fall, highway travel was not great. Direct flights to Prince George were poor. The CN Centre was good for this event, the volunteers were very helpful and cheerful. Seats are a little small for a large person, especially when having to wear a winter coat. The curlers and curling was phenomenal. All the seats gave an excellent view of the play with no blocked views. The Patch was too small. Costs of the event was good. Basically, $60.00 for 4 games per day [12 hours of curling]. Lot better than having to pay over $100/seat for one 3 hour long hockey game.

Road to the Roar was good.

by Curler571 on 2009-11-15Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

The only thing they shoud have done was issue a weekly pass. The stack of tickets was a pain.

An excellent five days of curling--very well organized! Volunteers were everywhere. The out-of-town spectators seemed pretty happy! Well done!
