    Absolute amazing curling

by feath2 on 2017-12-21Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

The curling event was totally enjoyable - would recommend to anyone. Transportation to and from the patch was great and interviews with the curlers were entertaining; however the patch itself and the food selections were less than adequate.

    Deadly, Deadly, Deadly....

by EllieJay16 on 2017-12-18Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

Was the best event of 2017 that I have been to ever.... Could not have been any better. The place and people I saw and met was so awesome. I enjoyed the whole weekend with everyone and was able to get pictures with the curlers but the last men's game topped of my night with Koe winning and representing the Gwich'in Participants of the Northwest Territories. He for sure has the whole Territories routing for him. Go Koe for the Gold!!

    Good Curling and Great Olympians

by Curler4Ever on 2017-12-15Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

Watching the 2017 Roar of the Rings allowed us to visit with my sister in Kanata, and see the best teams in Canada compete for the ultimate prize, representing us in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Team Koe and team Homan came out on top, but it was a long and difficult battle. The venue, the Canadian Tire Centre, is way out in the sticks with no services in winter walking distance. Food and drink prices were ridiculous, and parking was at downtown in a big city level. The rows of seats are too close together for week long comfort. Ice conditions looked to be excellent for most draws. The before-draw entertainment was fun, if a little on the inexperienced side. They needed to know their audience better and play to it more.

    Fantastic Experience

by Richw on 2017-12-14Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

It was great to see the top tier curlers. First time for us. During the week it is pretty quiet in the rink which we liked very much. It seemed like a more personal environment when being able to see the curlers up close. I took binoculars, so it was like TV when I wanted it to be. I found it hard to follow more than two games, so followed one game with periodic checks on other games. We sat in row “j” near one end at side. The problem with this is we couldn’t see the game on the nearest side due to the hockey boards. Either they should be removed for the event, or the middle walkways narrowed to move the sheet if ice away from the boards. We missed most of a Holman game because of that!

Roar of the Rings full event package

by imsewfine on 2017-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

It was a great display of curling and very well run. The only thing I missed was the traditional bagpiper bringing in the teams before every game. Our seats were well chosen and good facility all the time.

    below average food choices

by Wenches on 2017-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

Quite a number of the more interesting food providers in the arena were closed. The vendors still open offered very expensive and only average fare. There was little time to leave the arena and get back for the next game even if you could find a restaurant that was not full.

    Not Impressed

by RosieLeah on 2017-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

I was not impressed with the fact that we paid for the privilege to park in any of 4 parking lots only to discover that they 3 of the 4 were closed and the one we could park in was the farthest away from the arena AND we had to cross 3 busy streets as well. I was also not impressed with the raucous and loud cheering for the Homan team. That kind of cheering is for hockey or soccer events; not curling events. I strongly feel that it distracted all other teams on the ice at the same time as the Homan team. It's unfortunate that the officials weren't more stringent in controlling that. Frankly, it put me off on the whole event.

    Holman's House

by 2017RoarforHolman on 2017-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

Fabulous curling. Great to see Holman team win in front of supportive home town fans. Pathetic transportation options, and horrible food. Event would have been better off at Civic Centre.

    food

by Tennisfan4 on 2017-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - Kanata

Was terrible you could not get a vegetable or soup. The arena is in the middle of no ware. Poor transportation.
