Class act ! A real pro, awesome !! great blues !!
Robert comes from a place where its about singing with the heart and soul. A musician that has true talent with singing and playing the guitar. Anyone that wants to a good taste of soul blues, look no further. Robert and the band will not disappoint!
Passionate and brilliantly textured guitar playing. Tight band. Great concert.
It was a real pleasure to see Robert in person! One more notch on my guitar.
Robert Cray was a really great concert his music was well played and his stage presence and that of his band was very professional and very entertaining.
How many great guitar players can sing like Ray Charles? Exactly... barely any, putting Cray in rarified air. He's mellow, but with that kind of soul in his voice, he could sing the phonebook and still sound amazing.
Exactly one hour after they started, the band walked off the stage. Came back and played 2 encore songs.
To begin with there were NO signs indicating where to park without getting towed; and very little help from the casino parking staff. Every single Robert Cray concert item for sale was marked down because it all came from his 2014 tour!! WOW!!! CD's, and t shirts, all from an old tour, and he expects us to buy this stuff?! Very short set. And most importantly he did NOT play his hit song "Smokin' Gun". As the show progressed he settled in more, and played some good songs. You're listening to him, then off they go and wait for an encore. They come back on the stage, and everyone was waiting to hear "Smokin' Gun". Didn't happen. The house lights come on and stay on. Almost everyone including me, couldn't believe he skipped playing that song...there were some others he also could have played. Major disappointment as we talked about as we filed out of the theatre.
He is a genius with the guitar. No one can put together screeching guitar melodies or soft soft blues the way he does with such fluidity and style. He is extraordinary. Not one guitar rhythm or strum sounded the same from a previous dong he played. Every song was different and his voice still lacks the same deep rhythmic tone as it did 20 years ago. Ageless and awesome not to be missed.
