Robert Cray Tickets

Went to see him at Hamilton Convention Centre. The opening act "Steve Strongman" was awesome. Had never heard of him before. Want to see him again for sure !!!! As for Robert Cray, although I enjoyed it, I would not bother seeing him again. The show was supposed to start at 8pm. The opening act was about 40 min, no complaints though as they were great. Then it took about another 40 min to set up for Robert Cray while we all sat there, wondering when it would start. When he finally came on, he actually looked a bit pissed off. Not sure. He is not exactly a great 'entertainer' per se as it was kind of boring. All he really ever said was " thank you kindly".......about 20 times, and not much else. I was hoping for more. Although he had not lost anything in his voice, still sounds great. Just expected some more effort I guess you could say. Over all......boring. Steve Strongman was more entertaining, would recommend seeing him !!!!!

The Robert Cray Band did not disappoint once again. The venue was not the greatest as the sound could have been better but like I said the Band is always amazing.

My first visit to the this venue...I was pleased with the accessibility, parking, etc. Very impressed with the Steve Strongman...good solid rockin' blues act. Robert Cray band was very tight...polished.. If I had a slight quibble...I felt his songs began to sound the same..but...very talented band!!

This was one of the best shows I have ever seen. We had front row seats. We're still rockin!!!!!

Robert Cray was much better in person than on video. Don't know what else to say but I really hope he comes back this way.

I've been waiting for years to see Robert Cray. The studio at Hamilton Place was great! 400 seats - talk about an intimate venue. The band was fantastic, but only played for 90 minutes. They started at 8:00pm sharp, and got up to leave the stage after about 70 minutes. I think everyone thought there was going to be an intermission. But, they came back, played 2-3 songs as an encore and left. Didn't even play "Nothin' But a Woman", which is my favourite. Also, had very litle merchandise for sale (e.g. I was planning rounding out my collection of Robert Cray CDs but they only had the new one and one other Live one,by the time I got there). If they had even played for another 30 minutes (making the concert 2 hours), my rating would have easily been "Amazing" (5*), but I was left a bit hollow with the early departure.

Very fortunate to see Robert in this intamate setting and only 9 feet from the stage. Sound was clean and the band was tight, Richard on bass, Jim on the keys and Tony on percussion you can tell these guys have played a lot. Seeing RCB band in the Studio Theatre vs when I saw him open for Clapton at the ACC really has no comparison all..... of the subtle nuances simply cannot be heard at a large venue. Great voice, guitar work and lyric's make this guy one of the best blues men out there.

Good night, good show just a little short at $80 a ticket. Would have liked him to play a little longer.
