ROYAL BLOOD IN CONCERT:

In just a few short years, British garage outfit Royal Blood has gone from a little-known upstart to a sought-after touring partner for acts like Pixies and The Arctic Monkeys. The key to their success? One of the most entertaining, high-octane live shows in rock music. Royal Blood is a duo, but the massive wall of sound they create in concert is the stuff of arena glory, all blaring guitars and crashing cymbals. Add to that the bluesy wail of lead vocalist Mike Kerr and catchy tracks like "Little Monster" and you've got yourself one heck of a live show. Already big stars in the UK, Royal Blood continue to grow their stateside fanbase with rollicking performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Royal Blood was formed in 2012 in Brighton, UK, by singer Mike Kerr and drummer Matt Swan. Swan was replaced by the band's current drummer Ben Thatcher, and in 2013 the new duo made their debut with the heavy-hitting single "Out of the Black". The song launched the band to prominence virtually overnight, topping the UK Rock Chart and earning them a nomination for the BBC Sound of 2014 award. Royal Blood topped the charts again in 2014 with their second single "Little Monster", which they supported with several high-profile shows with the Arctic Monkeys. An up-and-coming act with unparalleled energy in concert, Royal Blood continue to rock fans on their must-see tours.

    Best show I've seen in a long time

    Everything about this show was awesome. The sound was on point, nothing ruins a show faster than a bad sound mix. This is the benefit of playing in a theatre that is designed for sound transmittal. The lighting was fantastic and well paired with the music. The opening act (Hot Wax) was a pleasant surprise, and have been listening too since the show. Mike and Ben were having so much fun and it translated to everyone in the place having a good time. Felt like I experienced something magical. If I could afford it I would follow these guys around. Can't wait to see them again.

    Blinding... I mean literally blinding!

    Great show as expected, lots of energy and expertly delivered. My only complaint would be the lighting team got it so-so wrong. Everyone in the balcony section was literally blinded whenever the lights went on. Couldn't see the stage as it was like looking into headlights for most of the show. Suggest you fire your lighting team as that was a huge oversight. There were a lot of unhappy people around us. In summary.... music amazing, lighting, not so much. Maybe it's why Ben Thatcher came out wearing sunglasses... he knew something we didn't...

    Best Concert Ever!

    These guys are electric, plain and simple. They sound amazing live and they put on a great show. Still blows my mind how 2 guys can create such amazing music. Will definitely see them again.

    Music was 5 stars, but ...

    THE LIGHTS!!! JFC the lights. My husband and I were second row of the balcony at the Queen E in Vancouver and we were BLINDED by the lights. My husband "watched"most of the show with his eyes closed. I had to shield my eyes for a number of songs. There was a chorus of other people seated all around us, all trying to shout for them to fix the lights, but of course we weren't heard. The music was incredible, I just wish I had been able to properly appreciate the full experience.

    band is amazing, please let them come every year, but the venue is a classic theatre and this is a rock concert. last year they were in UBC Douglas, and it was a good match!

    Wish there was GA

    The band is awesome but it would’ve been so much more fun if there was GA. I don’t like being confined to a seat, it takes away from the experience. The crowd was dead and that was probably partly why

    Awesome Duo!!

    Show: 14/11/2023. Venue: Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Vancouver, BC Best show I’ve been to this year!!! Full of energy!! The setlist was great. Mike & Ben were awesome and really good at hyping up the crowd. The setup was also really cool. 100% would go to another show! The only downside was the Venue was a little small & cramped which made it hard to see even though we had great seats. And no screen. Performance: 10/10 Setlist: 10/10 Crowd: 10/10 Venue: 6/10
