Ryuichi SAkamoto is indeed a brilliant musician. Listening live with his famous music like Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and my all time favorite Rain is way better than watching it on YouTube.
Ryuichi Sakamoto was the first time debut in decades here in Toronto. This latest album "Playing The Piano" becomes the latest 'new age' music since 2 movies soundtracks: "ROYAL SPACE FORCE: Wings of Honneamise" & "The Last Emperor". I'd like a new age music which is different than jazz or pop. This one will hear your 'relaxation'.
Ryuichi Sakamoto's music is unique but stunning. His performance was great. But the sound of the Queen Elizabeth's Theater isn't that great. Most of the sound couldn't travel to the middle and don't mention the back.

I loved this concert, Ryuichi finally came to TO and it was worth the wait. The audience were Great too, very respectful (the volume was not very loud). Ryuichi please don't wait so long next time.
At first, I thought I was going to sit through a whole piano concert in silence and a few notes played every few seconds... but boy am I glad that it didn't happen that way. When he started off with Amore, it was simply the most beautiful song i've ever heard. Definitely must go for Ryuichi Sakamoto fans!
It was a journey that I would go through again and again - a difficult opening piece like the struggle through a long and dark canal - into a blissful grace ... then clever, clever, funny, clever - beautiful and finally humility and grace! The venue went out of their way to make the experience fabulous - It was my first time there and I would recommend The Queen Elizabeth Theatre for any show you want to see.
Wellcome to Ryuichi Sakamoto Museum. It's not a just concert.
