About

Long before "Brave" hit the charts in 2013 and became her signature tune alongside the 2007 smash "Love Song," California-based singer songwriter Sara Bareilles's music embodied the word. Finding strength in vulnerability as well as her stomping, striding piano lines, the self-taught musician has made her name exploring the complexity of love and attraction with unflinching honesty and incredibly catchy hooks. Her style is pop in almost the classical sense of the word, with songs that directly relate with ticket buyers no matter what they are predisposed to like, as she shown on tours with the likes of Counting Crows, Maroon 5, and Sugarland. All of that touring paid off on her third full-length studio album, The Blessed Unrest, which debuted at #2 in the spring of 2013, right behind Jay Z. She showed herself to be in total command of the studio, as displayed in the anthemic "Brave," which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff of the band Fun. But while she flourishes with layers of sound or fronting a rollicking band, Bareilles is just as powerful sitting at a piano by herself, which she proved with the October 2013 solo concert DVD and album, Brave Enough: Live at the Variety. Whatever the setting, her authenticity and ability to musically reveal her own truth cannot be denied.

Talented, astounding voice, very funny (although don't bring your kids if you don't want them to hear swearing). A must see.

Seeing Sara play just on her own, with only the piano or guitar, was very special. She has an amazing voice and is so very talented. She was very funny & interacted with the audience well. I would encourage everyone to see her if they can...you won't be disappointed.

    Sara Bareilles was incredible!

by DebToronto on 2013-05-02The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Loved Sara's solo show... just Sara, her piano, guitars and a harmonium box-type instrument. Her voice is amazing live and she's hilarious too. Love her new single "Brave" and she closed with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" on piano, which was hauntingly beautiful. Kudos for providing chairs in the GA venue too... perfect atmosphere for her acoustic show. She called an audience member up from the audience to sing (a girl from Montreal) and it was so spontaneous and fun... plus, she was an amazing singer! Great moment. Run do not walk to see Sara live if you can!

Sara Bareilles Brave tour is pure joy!

by tlintoronto on 2013-05-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Sara has this raw, pure voice and comedic style that makes her shows spontaneous, lively and a lot of fun. Her music is catchy and she encourages her audiences to sing along and take part in fully enjoying her show. This is my third time seeing her in Toronto and I also liked that the Pheonix Theatre provided seating this time.

    Intimate and full of Zip!

by Munga on 2013-05-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Sara filled the stage all by herself. What a talent. She is a fantastic musician and extremely talented vocalist. Even more - she has a great sense of humour and is just quirky enough to be totally endearing. Captivating show - I want to to to all of them in every city!

A dream in the form of a concert...

by saraisthebest on 2011-09-08Rumsey Playfield, Central Park - New York

This was the most incredible concert I have ever been to...and truly mean that. Sara always has such incredible stage presence but at this concert it was even stronger, and she was hilarious. And of course her performances left me in awe, as usual. This was the second time that I have seen Sara Bareilles live but she had me totally under her spell. She performed "Gravity" completely a capella which was indescribable and so brave of her because her voice was 110% exposed. I really recommend seeing hr in concert. She is even better live than on her album and she always changes it up a bit with each performance so even if you have seen her live before you couldn't possibly be bored. She is the most talented musician that I have ever seen live in my opinion (and I have seen a lot of people live ;) ). Don't even stop to think, just go see her if you have the chance to. I took a plane to go see this concert and it was more than worth it!!!
